Theodore Chaliapine - Song Of The Flea / La Calunnia È Un Venticello (Slander Is A Whispering Zephyr)
Looks like Chaliapin recorded this twice, once for HMV and once for Victor, and presumably collected the fees twice :). So I've unlinked the two recordings, and updated this one.

The Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra - The Dream Of Gerontius (Op.38) Prelude
This was part of Album number 386 (albums were called Record Libraries after World War 2). C.7611 -7622 was the auto-coupled version. The full list of performers on this set were Heddle Nash (tenor), Dennis Noble (baritone), Gladys Ripley (mezzo soprano), and Norman Walker (bass),along with the Huddersfield Choral Society and the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. June 1945 is the release date provided by HMV trade catalogues.

I've got F-3409 to F-3423 as released in 1951. F-3417 was released in September 1951, and F-3426 in Feb 1952 according to this Trade Catalogue. This series never had monthly releases, only a few bulk releases every year.

It also seems that these records were never released in catalogue number order. The June 1925
list shows DB-835 and DB-109 on page 2, and DB-109 (Gigli) is not in the March 1924 list, only records above DA/DB 200 :(

The label bio was written 10 years ago and is now well out-of-date, and I've recently PM'd xiph to say it needed updating. 1924 is given as the beginning of the DA and DB series in many places, and I suspect that many were bulk issued without announcement.

Various Artists - Aida. No. 31 & 32
I've had a similar problem trying to make a table of HMV albums with cat numbers for both straight and auto-couplings. Best I could do was to list them as "Soloists, Orchestra Name, Conductor Name" where known, which for this album would have been "Soloists, Grand Milan Orchestra" which gave a little more context to the record.

@ajtharp - we don't have rules, only guidelines. The admins have said that a label only image edit is acceptable, so I will continue to edit that way on any images sent 'for further editing'.

The Band Of H.M. Coldstream Guards - Old Comrades March / Stein Song
According to Frank Andrews this 78rpm was deleted from the UK catalogue in April 1959. But like many others, it may have appeared in a foreign HMV catalogue, and so manufacture may have continued beyond that date. He also notes that B 4501 to B 4998 were issued outside the UK.

Various Artists - HMV Catalogue No 2
Sorry Robert, but this edition of the No 2 catalogue is definitely 1924. The No 2 catalogue was published annually for around a decade until it was reintroduced into the annual catalogue, so which ever one you are looking at with 1930 dates in it is a later edition. And there is no such thing as a No 1 catalogue.

Symphony Orchestra - Symphony No. 6 In B Minor (Pathétique)
Two things need further comment. I'm trying to put a list of the HMV numbered 78rpm 'Albums' (around 470) together. But many 'Sets' were also issued. Most Albums and Sets were issued in straight couplings (as here) and auto-couplings. Many of the earlier auto-couplings were issued twice, with different catalogue numbers for each issue. Never simple is it ??

Alhambra Orchestra - Morris Dance
The dates given on the original submission of 1896 and 'recorded 10 Dec 1895' are incorrect and impossible for a Gram Co. Berliner (blame popsike source?). The Kelly database gives the correct date of 12 Oct 1898 (American recorder Fred Gaisberg uses USA date format on early records), the recording artists as The Alhambra Orchestra and no matrixes were used at this time, the 3-1 or y-1 being a code as yet not deciphered. It was released in the 2nd Gram Co list of 22 Feb 1899. I've updated
