78rpm-maniac 18th Jan 2023 | | 78 RPMHans Bund - Petersburger Schlittenfahrt / Rusticanella (Lied An Die Hirtin) (1936) | Intresting variant, but it is NOT a testpressing, but a promotional-disc, for airplay in Germany.
On the right side is a stamped inscription: Unverkäufliche Musterplatte, that means "promo-copy not for sale".
Authentic test records mostly have a white label with handwritten or stamped inscriptions, like the manufacturing-date, artist's name and song title and several numbers, like the matrix numbers.

78rpm-maniac 18th Jan 2023 | | 78 RPMGroßes Blasorchester Mit Männerchor - Lore, Lore / Horst-Wessel-Lied (Die Fahne Hoch) (1933) | In my opinion, the sleeve with the SA-Troopers and the marching-band is in any case genuine, authentic. There are two versions one for 10-inch records and one for 12-inch-records, for those Telefunken records.
Another question: Is the matrix number for that white-label record machine-stamped or handwritten?
If it is machine-stamped, it is a genuine test pressing. Again, I have never seen such a label as a regular label style, so I came to my conclusion, again, that this record is a white-label test record and one of the previous owners had an artistic profession, to paint the inscriptions and the used design on the white labels. Really well done.

78rpm-maniac 15th Aug 2022 | | 78 RPMThe Beatles - Lady Madonna / The Inner Light (1968) | Hi, what do you think.
Do other Beat groups also exist on Indian 78-rpm-records.??
OK, Beatles is well discovered, also Cliff and the Shadows, Swinging Blue Jeans and Manfred Mann are also known, but what about The Dave Clark Five, Herman´s Hermits, Peter and Gordon, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Billy J. Kramer and The Dakotas, Freddie and The Dreamers, The Hollies and other bands from the EMI-Labelgroup.
Or what about Decca, Capitol or London-Artists, like The Tornados, Brian Poole and The Tremeloes, Rolling Stones, some other British or American sixties artists and songs on London India if exist. ?
|
78rpm-maniac 15th Aug 2022 | | 78 RPMThe Beatles - Hey Jude / Revolution | Wow, what an interesting item. My philosophy for such a record.
It also could be an acetat-version for radio-station purposes by a DJ or archivist, who cutted from a regular 45-rpm disc or from audio-tape-transfer, not allready for "rip off" purposes, if it doesn´t came directly from Abbey-Road-studios.
I´m sure that some DJs or archivists at radio-archives made some acetates for their own, sometimes compiled with favourite songs or something like that. A simple thought by myside, but it also can be totally wrong.

78rpm-maniac 19th Jul 2022 | | 78 RPMThe Shadows - Rhythm And Greens / The Miracle (1964) | A question to the experts/professional-traders in collecting/trading such exotic records.
Are there in India on the Columbia-label some other issues by other beat-artists, like The Dave Clark Five, Herman´s Hermits, Peter and Gordon, Billy J. Kramer with The Dakotas, Freddie and The Dreamers, Gerry and The Pacemakers or similar groups.?? Have you ever seen those other beat-groups on India or Philippines 78-rpm-records. ?

78rpm-maniac 25th May 2022 | | 78 RPM[no artist listed] - Mary Had A Little Lamb (1890) | Wow, what a find.
There occured a hyphothesis, that Emile Berliner, the inventor of the gramophone and the shellac-record, recorded some records with his own voice but i´m not sure, if that information is confirmed.
If Emile Berliner speaks himself on that record, it will be a true music-historical gem.
Maybe we need more research and more infos by other collectionists and experts.

78rpm-maniac 25th May 2022 | | 78 RPMFrank Sinatra - Love And Marriage / The Impatient Years (1955) | That song is a Sinatra-classic.
