Betove - Folies Musicales / Folies Musicales		Back in the mid 30s when I was about 5, I went to New York with my parents. Dad went to the Gramophone shop and purchased 2 copies of Folies Musicales, one for H.L. Mencken, a close friend, and one for us. Back home in Baltimore, Dad put our copy on the phonograph, and I can still remember how I fell on the floor laughing at the German and Chinese imitations. Mencken had heard of the record but hadn't heard it in person yet.When he heard it his reaction was the same,uncontrollable laughter. I still have our copy, and several years ago found another one, on the Parlophone label.
