Notes

I have 4 records by Earl/Earle Spencer. This one (795) is the only one without the E on the end of Earle.

I've linked "Earl Spencer" to the "Earle Spencer" discography.

Here's the "Bolero in Boogie" with Spencer, Gillett as composers:

It's also listed in the Catalog of Copyright Entries under Billy Gillett as composer (source), and it is identified as a Gillett composition in this not too flattering review of the band in Billboard, Feb. 22, 1947, page 19, in which Spencer is called "a poor man's Kenton." That review also mentions the promotional stunt B&W pulled by sending lots of complimentary copies (marked "With Our Compliments") of Earle Spencer's first record to DJs.

Andy Razaf and Paul Denniker worked together to write "S'posin", "Perhaps", "Make Believe Danceland", but not this song, so I have corrected the entry.

I have two different versions of this disc in my database. I don't know that either is the same version as the one that served as the bass for this entry.

One version has the Legend "With Our Compliments" above the titles and "Introducing the Band of 1946" "Earl Spencer" below the titles. There are no composers identified on either side of that version.

I only have the "Bolero In Boogie" side of the second version, which assumes the form I would consider to be standard B&W. It shows Spencer and Gillett as the composers of that piece, not Andy Razaf and Paul Denniker as shown here.
