We have some sheet music and his cornet. I checked the serial number of the cornet with an expert and it was manufactured in 1901, so it wasn't the one he used with Edison.

 @jmg105 That is really cool! Does your family have any of his early recordings or any documentation from his early recording career with Edison? John Mitthauer was one of the early recording stars for Edison back in 1889 and made a lot of recordings that year.
