 Actually, {Image #2486325} was the first CBS-era Columbia label design. The rim print shown did not last to the start of their pop "red label" in September 1939. So I'd venture this label was Spring 1939 at the earliest.

 The Discogs date is not even correct for the repress that it refers to. The label there (and now here) lists two patents (1625705 and 1702564) and reg. nr. 16588, which dates this repress to ca. 1941, cf. M. Sherman & K. Nauck, "Note the Notes," page 9.

This is the label design of the 1937 original:


I find Laughton's performance surprisingly sleep-inducing. Certainly not the passionate address that I think Lincoln must have given.

 This was recorded in 1937, so the 1943 release date that discogs has may be incorrect.
