23skidoo 20th Nov 2024		Book William Welwood - The Sea-Lavv Of Scotland (1969)	Cover and title page (and online searches) confirm correct spelling of this book is "Sea-Lavv" with 2 v's. However the site's font renders the v-v as a w anyway.
23skidoo 14th Nov 2024		Book Jean Marie Stine - The Prisoner: A Day In The Life (1981)	The Prisoner novels have been reprinted periodically. Does anyone know if #3 has ever been reprinted under the author's current name, Jean Stine? I don't know when she changed name; if it was within the last 20 years I don't know if there have been any reprints of it. The first book by Thomas Disch tends to be the one that gets reissued a lot.

23skidoo 24th Oct 2024		Book John Guy - Queen Of Scots	The 2005 date on this edition is incorrect as it references the 2018 movie so the edition indexed here can't be dated earlier than a year or so earlier. It also has an ISBN-13 and books didn't have those before 2007, making this a later reprint.

Should I go back and correct the entries for Carolyn Keene's Nancy Drew books (which I belive are listed by the author real name, though several different people wrote as Keene) or the books of Walter Wager who was often credited as John Tiger? I've been following incorrect instructions all this time.

If not I'll leave it to "annaloog" or another administrator to decide if to make the change. I do not know why Lewis Carroll, Mark Twain and a few others are entered under the pen names only but I was told 10 years ago we use real name and then indicate pen name in the appropriate field - with no exceptions.

23skidoo 28th Sep 2024		Book David Weber - Ashes Of Victory (2001)	On several of the Honor Harrington book covers I often wonder if the artist wasn't fantasy casting Angelina Jolie in the part. Although this particular cover isn't as close to her look as others, I cannot help wondering if the decision to give Jolie's character an eyepatch in the 2004 film Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow wasn't in some way inspired by Harrington's look once she began sporting an eyepatch in the series.

23skidoo 20th Sep 2024		Book William S. Burroughs - The Wild Boys	Was Grove ever an imprint of Dell? This was one was odd for having Dell on spine but Grove on title page, unless they just reused a carcass from a Grove edition, only I don't know if Grove ever put this out.
23skidoo 14th Sep 2024		Book Scott Mauck - Daily Groove (2002)	I bought this for the cover, I will not lie (and yes I do have the "Peanut Butter Jelly Time" meme in my head right now) I'm not sure if the fragmented text is intentional or not - the cover and spine both have this which might be an intentional effect (it doesn't appear the ink has worn away) but the back cover renders the text illegible (the sticker remnant doesn't count). If by some odd chance someone has a cleaner copy of this maybe they can confirm.

23skidoo 14th Sep 2024		Book Joan D. Vinge - Catspaw (1996)	Unable to input ISBN due to irremovable bookstore sticker covering it on back cover and it's not on the copyright page. I tagged front cover scan as a possible misprint due to it apparently being printed off-centre slightly (note logo is cut off bottom left; it rolls onto spine in copy indexed not a scan error) and because it displays Aspect imprint logo despite title page showing Popular Library imprint and copyright page making no reference to Aspect. Maybe they used a carcass from an earlier edition?

23skidoo 8th Sep 2024		Book Ron Goulart - What's Become Of Screwloose? And Other Inquiries (1973)	Cover scans added. Unfortunately rear cover defaced by impossible-to-remove-without-tearing sticker. It covers the "first publication anywhere" claim which would seem to contradict the existence of a hardcover edition by Scribner and according to ppint the fact the stories were previously printed.
23skidoo 7th Sep 2024		Book Bill Strutton - Doctor Who And The Zarbi (1978)	I just notice David put covers for 1975, 1979 and 1981 printings here. My understanding is every printing has to be indexed separately, especially if their covers differ which is certainly the case for 1975.
23skidoo 6th Sep 2024		Book Kim Newman - Anno Dracula (1993)	I have yet to read any of this series, but I recall reading somewhere that there is actually a vague connection with the Doctor Who franchise, by way of a crossover character who had been created for a 1960s(?) era episode. Someone can correct me if I am wrong. Newman did go on to write some Doctor Who fiction too, as it happens.

23skidoo 16th Aug 2024		Book John William Donaldson - The Theatre Of The Greeks (1860)	I've never encountered a book with so many different publishers listed on title page (all given equal weight under city of origin). Not sure if "[multiple publishers]" was appropriate. Longman was the first name listed; maybe it should go under them? The fact Macmillan and other major publishers of the time are listed gave me a doubt. I'll go with whatever a mod decides on this.
23skidoo 16th Aug 2024		Book Leslie Charteris - The Saint Intervenes (1945)	@annaloog - thanks for filling in the blank. Although the cover of my copy as scanned was in beautiful shape (which is why I was willing to pay $10 for it), the spine had a bit of damage and didn't have a number visible.
23skidoo 12th Aug 2024		Book Charlie Higson - On His Majesty's Secret Service (2023)	To update my comment from June, Sherwood's book is available in Canada, but OHisMSS is still unavailable officially unless one orders UK imports via Amazon Marketplace. A search of Amazon shows Amazon Canada carrying (not a third party vendor) a 2017 novel of the same title by Eddie Edwards. Could that be why? That there's a novel of the same title already in circulation?
23skidoo 12th Aug 2024		Book Kingsley Amis - Colonel Sun (1968)	No one has uploaded the cover art for this edition yet. However I guess it must have been a popular painting as it was used again a couple years later as the cover of this sci-fi novel!
