ppint. 9th Nov 2020		if its last leaf has the first two or the second two of the four pp. adverts i mention, it is likely that it did once have the other leaf, and this was removed by a previous owner. it shouldn't be a later printing without this being noted in the printing history, and by the five-digit cat# being increased by ''1''; but after the purchase by charter communications, inc., the new owners tried not paying authors monies owed, not providing authors or their agents with sales or royalty statements, etc. - and, especially after grosset & dunlap bought charter communications, inc. and before the arrival of thomas doherty & james baen, also not necessarily updating printing histories or incrementing the five-digit cat#s to indicate reprintings - especially if the cover price remained unaltered. after grosset & dunlap bought ace books with charter communications, inc., they put in thomas doherty to sort out the mess, and he hired james (jim) p. baen as ace books editor from galaxy with the assurance that grosset & dunlap would pay the authors what was owed them, and that he'd sort out the rest, leaving jim baen a free hand to run the editorial side properly. ppint. 3rd Nov 2017		this is the second ace sf imprint edition: although physically in the taller ("european" or "uk") paperback format, this is still printed from the typesetting of the 1963 first edition shorter format ace F-251 paperback, i.e. top and bottom page margins are greater, but the text is printed in the same point-size. 192pp. including titles, indica etc, 4 end pp. advertising (not including the glossy two-sided cigarette advertising bound-in between pp. 96 & 97 (this comment is from another edition of this book)
