fixbutte 17th Mar 2014		A caringly designed Limited Edition of Bob Dylan's third to last studio album, seeming like a lavish miniaturized 78 rpm album set, with wonderful photographs, notably portraits by the legendary jazz photographer William Claxton (made two years before his death). The music is excellently played, and Dylan's new songs, mostly based on old blues and folk songs, are solid though not exactly overwhelming. One highlight may be Rollin' And Tumblin', which has got a lot of new lyrics but was definitely not composed by Dylan. The bonus DVD, however, is fascinating, with powerful songs and performances, and enjoyably filmed. If German Wikipedia is right, the album was issued in Germany and Continental Europe a few days before the UK (Aug 28) and the USA (Aug 29). This was, by the way, Bob Dylan's introduction to 45worlds CD Albums (he only made it to [Artist ID: 1134] though).
