Gill Sans SUBS 21st Jun 2024 | | CD AlbumGracious - Gracious ! / This Is... Gracious !! (1995) | 'Fugue In 'D' Minor' is more or less Bach's 'Little Fugue in G Minor, BWV 578, transcribed down, which makes for a pleasantly 'Classical' piece by this Surrey-based 5-piece progrock band.

Gill Sans SUBS 26th Nov 2020 | | CD AlbumThe Royal Philharmonic Orchestra - Last Night At The Proms (2008) | There is some good brisk playing on this assortment of tracks which all seem to have been released elsewhere. The accompanying details are few and the typos and errors on the sleeve and CD data are many.
I don't recognise the two Bugle Calls (Buggle Calls on the CD data) but the brass is bright and clear.
The conductor is not credited but can be seen to be Carl Davis from this video. The tracks The Anchors Weighed, The Saucy Arethusa, Tom Bowling, Jack's The Lad, Farewell And Adieu Ye Spanish Ladies, and Home Sweet Home make up a Fantasia On British Sea Songs which were arranged by Sir Henry Wood.

Among the folk tunes of the Fantasia, The Saucy Arethusa was in fact written by Turlough O’Carolan and is quite my favourite track on the CD.

Rule, Britannia! was written by Thomas Arne, with both instrumental and choral versions here.
Jerusalem was written by Hubert Parry and orchestrated by Elgar.
The Pomp And Circumstance March is No. 1 In D. There is no known composer of the tune for Auld Lang Syne so "Davie" is completely spurious on the sleeve.
