Clannad - Crann Ull (1988)
Enya's gaelic real name is Eithne I believe so I don't think she's the one listed

There's a Clannad album from 1982 which does include Enya but the title escapes me

Yazoo - Upstairs At Eric's (1990)
I picked up this cd second hand today at a charity shop. Surprised to hear on the track IN MY ROOM, recited by a male person, most of the "Lord's prayer".

CD Album
Janis Ian - Night Rains (1998)
I should also point out that the 7" single version of FLY TOO HIGH is just over a minute shorter than the version contained on the album.

Janis Ian - Night Rains (1998)
The first album by Janis Eddy Fink to chart in the USA was in 1967.

Her career peak was at age 24 when the album BETWEEN THE LINES reached #1 on the Billboard Pop Albums chart in the USA on 20 September 1975 for 1 week. Only two other female solo artists reached the top position in 1975 namely Linda Ronstadt and Olivia Newton-John.

In 1979 and 1980 only 2 female solo artists reached the top position, being the same artists in both of those years: Barbra Streisand and Donna Summer. No wonder the two recorded a duet on NO MORE TEARS.

Regrettably the album NIGHT RAINS failed to dent the Billboard Top 200 pop albums chart and was not included on the items bubbling under either.

Janis Ian's final charted album on Billboard was in 1981 and it failed to reach the Top 150. How the mighty were fallen.

Back in the day NIGHT RAINS did manage the following global chart peaks in 1980:

#2 - Holland
#8 - Zimbabwe
#11 - Australia.

If South Africa had had an official album chart list available at the time it would probably have reached the Top 10 there too.

FLY TOO HIGH was the main single from NIGHT RAINS. In the USA although it spent 4 months on the Record World chart it only peaked at #134! It failed to register on the Billboard or Cashbox pop charts. It was however a #1 in South Africa and Zimbabwe and reached the Top 5 in New Zealand and Holland and #7 in Australia.

Francoise Barriere - Par Temps Calme Et Ensoleillé (1992)
ensoleillé is the correct spelling. there are 3 variations shown here. i think the word means sunlit.

Mod: fixed :-)

CD Album
Vangelis - Blade Runner (1994)
I was thinking of the album BLADE RUNNER TRILOGY - 25TH ANNIVERSARY - which strictly speaking would be a different album from this. Including such tracks as BR DOWNTOWN, ONE ALONE, etc...

there was a later version of this album by Vangelis including extra tracks. Sometime in the noughties i think.

CD Album
ABBA - Gracias Por La Musica (1986)
i have now added inner sleeve spanish lyrics, a shot of the disc itself (front) and the rear of the jewel box as well as an autographed front cover. being somewhat of a late starter as far as CD was concerned this was the very first compact disc which i added to my collection, in april 1988. it was a freebie sent to me by a then contact at Polydor in Hamburg.

Santana - Abraxas
heavens, what's the dove on the front cover up to there?

CD Album
ABBA - The Visitors (1983)
My copy of this album on CD from Germany was evidently from a later pressing, acquired after 1988. It's good that at least one "fab four" had the first commercial CD release in the world. The correct spelling of the composer and band member's surname is ANDERSSON.

[mod: composers corrected, also Bjorn to Björn]
