TopPopper 20th Jul 2014 | | CD AlbumVarious Artists - Instant Karma 2002 (2002) | Two "Gimme Some Truth"s?
TopPopper 30th Jun 2014 | | CD AlbumThe Soft Boys - Underwater Moonlight (1990) | It is tricky. The country should refer to where it was released, but it's not always easy to tell. Some inside knowledge is an advantage I think. I'll load up my other Soft Boys CDs at some point, if no-one beats me to it - I think some of them are also made in Europe, but they're the UK editions. (Got a couple of rare bootlegs to go up as well.)
I'll go ahead and change this to UK, since you are in agreement.

TopPopper 30th Jun 2014 | | CD AlbumThe Soft Boys - Underwater Moonlight (1990) | Made in France, but I'm pretty certain this was a UK release. I'll have to dig out my copy to compare.
TopPopper 29th Jun 2014 | | CD AlbumThe Beatles - A Collection Of Beatles Oldies... But Goldies (2001) | Agreed. Don't forget Beatles Ballads as well.

Fantastic song.
TopPopper 22nd Jun 2014 | | CD AlbumReg Dwight - Reg Dwight's Piano Goes Pop (1994) | I don't know, to be honest. I would check Ebay and Amazon to see what copies are going for. If it's not listed, then it boils down to how much you want it!
TopPopper 22nd Jun 2014 | | CD AlbumElton John - Chartbusters Go Pop (1994) | As I understand, it was "Reg Dwight" which caused a problem, and Elton was behind getting it changed to "Chartbusters Go Pop". That means that "Reg Dwight" was the first release.
TopPopper 20th Jun 2014 | | CD AlbumThe Beatles - Abbey Road (1987) | OK - here's a pointless bit of trivia. The bricks on this CD insert are from the original wall photo, but for some reason it's now upside down. The long brick centre-bottom on the insert is the brick which was originally immediately beneath the letters OAD of "Abbey Road".
TopPopper 19th Jun 2014 | | CD AlbumThe Beatles - The Beatles [The White Album] (1987) | Added - non-Apple back cover (which I think is the first version).
TopPopper 18th Jun 2014 | | CD AlbumReg Dwight - Reg Dwight's Piano Goes Pop (1994) | Got you. You're definitely correct. The Pipkins version didn't even appear until after the LP had been out for several months. It's definitely White Plains.
TopPopper 18th Jun 2014 | | CD AlbumReg Dwight - Reg Dwight's Piano Goes Pop (1994) | Actually, the version on this CD comes from this album.
TopPopper 5th Jun 2014 | | CD AlbumThe Beatles - Reflections (2014) | Probably a bootleg. Can't think of any versions of "She Loves You" or "From Me To You" which are not protected.
TopPopper 1st Jun 2014 | | CD AlbumThe Modern Jazz Quartet - Under The Jasmine Tree (1993) | The Apple albums are a real mixed bag, from jazz to soul to avant-garde, pop, rock, classical. I never really got into this one or Space, but it's great that they released it. (Good cover as well.)
TopPopper 1st Jun 2014 | | CD AlbumThe Beatles - The Beatles 1967-1970 [The Blue Album] (2010) | Images moved.
TopPopper 30th May 2014 | | CD AlbumPaul McCartney - Plugged And Unplugged (1992) | I'd say it's a bootleg.
TopPopper 29th May 2014 | | CD AlbumJohn Lennon / Yoko Ono - Milk And Honey (1984) | The hidden images all differ in some way. Front cover has a cat number at the bottom, back cover has less text under the barcode, CD is all silver up to the hole. Maybe they should be unhidden, and marked for editing?
TopPopper 28th May 2014 | | CD AlbumBob Dylan - Blonde On Blonde (2003) | But you've put it the right way up...
TopPopper 26th May 2014 | | CD AlbumThe Beatles - Savage Young Beatles (1999) | Bootleg?
TopPopper 25th May 2014 | | CD AlbumThe Beatles - Live At The Star-Club, Hamburg (1991) | Mind you, if it is a re-issue, 1985 might turn out to be right. We'd need to see the earlier version to check if it's the same.
TopPopper 24th May 2014 | | CD AlbumThe Beatles - Live At The Star-Club, Hamburg (1991) | The copy scanned is probably be a 1991 reissue of a 1985 release.
TopPopper 24th May 2014 | | CD AlbumThe Beatles - The Silver Beatles (1986) | I found this guide
I haven't read through it meticulously, but it seems the markings H-3-1 are the release date. H means 1986, so that dates it to 1st March, 1986.
The other numbers with the X in front seem to have something to do with it not being allowed for rental, presumably until that date - so this one can't be rented out until Feb 28, 1987.
Timeless II and Golden Beatles also have the release H, meaning they are 1986 too.
TopPopper 24th May 2014 | | CD AlbumThe Beatles - The Silver Beatles (1986) | They do look very much like a date. I just looked at a couple of other Japanese CDs on the site - Blondie ones - and they too have an apparent date, which does correspond to the release year. Bit of a strange one if this is 1986.
TopPopper 24th May 2014 | | CD AlbumQueen - Greatest Hits (1994) | Thanks. I suspected it was as it's more square than the other one, but good to be 100 percent sure.
TopPopper 23rd May 2014 | | CD AlbumQueen - Greatest Hits (1994) | Have moved scan of the back of the CD over from a duplicate entry (image 19364). It differs from the other one in having no barcode but it's not clear if this is the back of the CD case, or the back of the insert/booklet. Clarification would be good.
TopPopper 23rd May 2014 | | CD AlbumThe Beatles - 1 (2000) | Nice yellow CD. Dare I say the cover's an improvement too?
TopPopper 18th May 2014 | | CD AlbumBadfinger - The Best Of Badfinger (1995) | Was this really a Capitol release? It has an apple on the front.
Great set of tunes by the way. Why weren't this band huge??
TopPopper 18th May 2014 | | CD AlbumJohn Lennon - Imagine (1987) | If this edition with the UK note was definitely sold across Europe, then it would be international - but not because the disc was made in Japan. Are you certain that was the case?
TopPopper 18th May 2014 | | CD AlbumJohn Lennon - Imagine (1987) | I'm struggling a bit with the country designations. Everything about the CD says UK to me. It has UK above the barcorde on the back, and a UK cat number on the disc. It's just that the CD itself was manufactured in Japan. But does that make it an international release? I wouldn't have thought so - why would it have UK-specific notation if it were intended for sale in, say, Japan, or France?
TopPopper 16th May 2014 | | CD AlbumBob Dylan - Bringing It All Back Home (1990) | I'm sure I've seen copies called that. I remember thinking it was a travesty to re-name one of his albums.
