Florence Foster Jenkins (born Narcissa Florence Foster), 1868 – 1944, American pianist and soprano singer, whose later musical ability was restricted as a result of an arm injury and syphilis. Her elaborate and costumed performances were attended by such New York celebrities as Enrico Caruso and Cole Porter.
