Queens' College Choir - Choirs Of Cambridge: 'Evening Hymn' (2013)
The playing order is not as shown in the packaging, which also perpetuates the misunderstanding that Joubert's glorious anthem uses the plural of "Thing"

The tracks Valiant For Truth, and O Nata Lux work particularly well for me.

The Cambridge Singers, John Rutter - There Is Sweet Music (2002)
Stanford's Quick! We Have But A Second is a favourite final piece for choral concerts: here Rutter and his singers carry it off to perfection, to the final note:

The Parley Of Instruments, Roy Goodman - John Stanley: Six Concertos In Seven Parts, Op.2 (1742) (1989)
This recording was reissued on 31st Aug 2010 with the same cat. No. and cover illustration of "Windsor Castle" by Paul Sandby, on Helios, again in 'The English Orpheus' Series.

This is mostly cheerful stuff from a minor British composer of the 18th Century.

Lionel Tertis - Side A SECTIONBREAK Come, Sweet Death (Komm Susser Tod) / Side B SECTIONBREAK Aria (1926)
Lionel Tertis, and the unknown pianist, must have recorded this arrangement of the Bach piece, BWV 478, more than once: the 2:56 and the 1:32 versions have made it onto a CD of Tertis' work. Tertis is known to have recorded with pianist Harriet Cohen so, maybe...

The "Madrigal - Nocturne" by Darius Milhaud will be familiar to BBC Radio 3 listeners who stay up late, as the introduction to the "Through The Night" music sequence. Pro Arte play in a similar style to the BBC private recording:

Chœur De Chambre Accentus - Poulenc: Figure Humaine (2001)
The Gramaphone Magazine carried a glowing review of this performance:

"Poulenc's choral music is particularly treacherous territory. One moment you're singing what sounds like Janequin or Passereau, the next you're into jagged, almost atonal lines and harmonies that seem to tear at the ether. And the contrasts are often abrupt and have to be managed at speed with every syllable of the French in place. Incredibly, the Accentus Chamber Choir under Equilbey's direction meet all these challenges with flying colours..."
