in front insert booklet & on back insert, but not on the disc, "má vlast" is translated, "my country", and subtitled, "cyklus symfonickych básní", "a cycle of symphonic poems", and the composer's life's dates given, "(1824-1884)".
in the "prague spring" of 1968, sincere communist & socialist politicians including dubcek inaugurated and attempted to establish a democratic socialist government for their country, and there was a flowering of the arts, as well as of freedom of expression & democratic co-operation in the then czechoslovakian people's republic. (it was all too brief, being decades before mikhail gorbachev's perestroika reforms in the soviet union: and the prague spring was crushed by the combination of soviet union & some other warsaw pact countries' armies.)
