albert 9th Sep 2018		These Tom & Jerry collections, either as this 6DVD collection or as separate 3 x 2DVD collections, have unfortunately been edited to appease the P.C. brigade. Currently in USA they are re-releasing the cartoons in unedited form but it remains to be seen if they will get released here. Tom & Jerry has always been known for its cartoon slapstick violence and non-PC sight gags, some of the more OTT scenes and some 'objectionable scenes' such as characters smoking have been cut. Also regarding the black character Mammy Two-Shoes who threatened Tom with the chop whenever he couldn't catch Jerry; I don't know which versions of specific cartoons we have but her voice and legs got replaced in the 1960s when the episodes were broadcast by CBS, which is a shame because the 'black' characteristics were very funny, and the 'white' screeching replacements just didn't work at all. A list of edits can be found here on this Tom & Jerry website. Edit: This collection is missing the early short "Million Dollar Cat", which includes a scene where Tom smokes a cigar. I have added details of the Golden Collection Volume 1 (we probably wont see any more volumes).
