Both acts played about 90% the same songs in each set, but in much different order. 1 person found this review helpful. ✔︎ Helpful Review? A great one-off concert and in a smaller venue, making every seat a "good seat". We had Gloria singing with the 2 "On Your Feet" leads, and daughter, Emily perform on keyboards with Gloria joining her, while Miami Sound Machine, took a breather. A classic show with older Miami Sound Machine hits. Gloria performed a track written for Jennifer Lopez. Emilio joined on timbalas,on the last songs performed. When I saw "Miami Sound Machine" got credit, I expected that Gloria had rounded up many of the original members, from the mid-80s, but it was the line up that included Jorge Casas (musical director/bass) and Clay Ostwald (assistant musical director/piano and keyboards). Overall, an enjoyable 2 hours! 2 people found this review helpful. ✔︎ Helpful Review? A semi-secret show at a friend of the band's 50th birthday party. I was unfamiliar with the band's music but they were seemed like a pretty decent indie/garage band. They played a host of covers, getting into the spirit of the night. The highlight probably being a great version of The Gun Club's 'Sex Beat' 1 person found this review helpful. ✔︎ Helpful Review? Barna Howard was enjoyable Americana. Robert Chaney was a revelation, charming performances of pleasingly dark songs. 1 person found this review helpful. ✔︎ Helpful Review? featuring Micky Moody and Geoff Whitehorn on guitars 1 person found this review helpful. ✔︎ Helpful Review? An entertaining and varied bill. First up (despite the advertised billing) were Dolores Haze - Swedish riot grrls, lots of energy and lots of fun. Bleeding Heart Pigeons are from Ireland. I was prejudiced against them because of the guitar/bass/singer's 16 pedals, and the fact tht he appeared to have his father as a roadie. They're competent enough, but sadly short on tunes and excitement. St. Tropez brushed aside my concern at their pedal count (27, but between 3 of them) and presented some highly energetic garage rock from Amsterdam. Somewhere between the early Saints and Hanoi Rocks. And to finish, the atmospheric postpunkish sounds of Kid Wave. Well worth the entry fee.. (it was free). 1 person found this review helpful. ✔︎ Helpful Review? Everything was there! All his amazing, beautiful songs (don't want to simply call them hits, too reductive). I'm a Believer, Desirée, Love OnThe Rocks, Hello Again, Pretty Amazing Grace, Kentucky Woman, Solitary Man, You Got To me, Girl You'll Be A Woman Soon, Play Me, Red Red Wine, Beautiful Noise, If You Know What I Mean, Brooklyn Roads, Shilo, Nothing But A Heartache, Something Blue, The Art Of Love, Song Song Blue, Forever in Blue Jeans, Cherry Cherry, Crunchy Granola Suite, Holly Holly, I Am:::I Said, Cracklin' Rosie, Sweet Caroline, America, Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show, I've Been This Way Before, An impeccable performance, and an excellent band. "You Are the Sun, I Am the moon, You are the Words, I am the Tune... Play me". Touching! 1 person found this review helpful. ✔︎ Helpful Review? Page 12 of 12 : Newer : Older :
