23skidoo 28th Jul 2022		TV Rango (1967)	I'm reading a book on the making of the first season of the original Star Trek. Apparently they shared backlots at Desilu studios and the production of Rango apparently was a pain in the butt sometimes when TOS had to film on location. LOL
23skidoo 25th Jul 2022		TV Quantum Leap (1989 - 1993)	In a story about the upcoming NBC revival I saw it being called Season 6. Nothing firm till it airs, but if they're doing the same they did with Law & Order and just restarting the series, the end date might need to be removed on his per the precedent of Doctor Who. Different cast top to bottom of course.

23skidoo 14th Jun 2022		TV Law & Order (1990 - Now)	I have asked the admins to remove the end date on this since the current revival series is being explicity referenced as a continuation of the original series, rather than a new series with the same title. Same precedent used for Doctor Who.
23skidoo 25th May 2022		TV Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022 - Now)	Interesting bit of trivia that's been pointed out in some reviews. Technically speaking, while commissioned as a spinoff of Discovery, SNW is also the followup to the original pilot, The Cage, that Roddenberry pitched back in 1964. That's a 58-year interval between pilot and series if one considers it to be separate from the second pilot that resulted in TOS being commissioned.

23skidoo 3rd May 2022		TV Bravest Warriors (2017 - 2018)	I am not certain of the protocol for indexing series that begin as a web series and then move to broadcast/streaming production. This show began as a Youtube series but was picked up for broadcast production for its fourth season. I have only indexed the 2017-18 season for this reason, but have no objection if the rules now say Youtube series count. If so, please change the start year to 2012.
23skidoo 2nd May 2022		TV Doctor Who Confidential (2005 - 2015)	I added an end date of 2015 for this as it ceased to be a regular production in this format after; two standalone episodes aired in 2016 and 2017. Otherwise, it was replaced by a new behind the scenes series, Inside Look (later retitled Closer Look), which was released on Youtube rather than broadcast.
23skidoo 21st Mar 2022		TV Four Feather Falls (1960)	I was watching a documentary on Gerry Anderson and apparently this show and Torchy the Battery Boy - the show he quit producing in order to make FFF - debuted around the same time, so for a while there were two very different Gerry Anderson shows on the air.
23skidoo 21st Mar 2022		TV Torchy The Battery Boy (1960 - 1961)	Anderson's episodes were filmed in 1959. By the time the first season debuted, Anderson had already begun work on Four Feather Falls and apparently the two shows debuted within a few weeks of each other!
23skidoo 21st Mar 2022		TV The Tonight Show (1954 - Now)	Some interesting trivia to add: Carson actually got his start on the Tonight Show several years before becoming host as he served as guest host for a while under Jack Paar (Paar was the one who introduced both that aspect of the show and dedicating Friday night to reruns both of which were continued by Carson). The 1962 "interregnum" as noted featured a number of temporary hosts. According to Wikipedia some of them thought they were trying out to replace Paar even though Carson had been chosen, and Jerry Lewis apparently did so well NBC nearly changed its mind on Carson and gave the show to Jerry instead! Merv Griffin also hosted for a bit during that period and that was apparently the catalyst for him becoming a talk show host. Arlene Francis, known as a panelist for What's My Line, was another temporary host, reportedly becoming the first woman to host a late-night talk show in the process.
23skidoo 2nd Mar 2022		TV Celebrity Squares (1975 - Now)	@OldMod67 LOL - and I'm still here! I know part of the challenge is they often changed the titles, as here. Since posting that I became aware of the existence of the UK version of Family Feud (but retitled Family Fortunes), for example.
23skidoo 11th Dec 2021		TV The Veil (1958)	Does anyone know when in the 1990s this was first broadcast? When I first entered this, I put 1958 based upon its production date, but technically the airdate should be whatever year it was first actually aired as a series.
23skidoo 3rd Dec 2021		TV You're In The Picture (1961)	Since I added this back in 2015, copies of the extant gameshow episode and the apology have been posted to Youtube and Archive.org. Added title screen, albeit in low quality.
23skidoo 20th Nov 2021		TV Star Trek: Prodigy (2021 - Now)	I checked: "Nickelodeon" is not part of the official title of the series. It's like how BBC productions for a while included the BBC logo on their title screens.
23skidoo 4th Nov 2021		TV The Brothers (1956 - 1957)	@Joyful Jukebox Very odd indeed that the series would be almost lost since it was made by Desilu, the studio that more or less invented the concept of filming live-audience shows for archival and syndication purposes (and they clearly held on to it till 1958 for rebroadcasts). I'm willing to bet it might have been due to an archive fire, which is I believe why only one season of the mid-60s sitcom My Living Doll has survived. Or the episodes were junked for tax or legal reasons (there's precedent for that, including at least one film directed by Charlie Chaplin).
23skidoo 4th Nov 2021		TV Stingray (1964 - 1965)	This is old news for those familiar with Supermarionation lore, but for anyone searching the name, the face of lead character Troy Tempest was based upon that of American actor James Garner. I think Atlanta's face was vaguely modelled after her voice actress, Lois Maxwell, too. I think Marina's was based on Brigitte Bardot, but don't quote me on that (except to correct me!).
23skidoo 21st Sep 2021		TV Clue Club (1976 - 1979)	Technically the series only aired new episodes on 1976. In 1977-78 it was retitled Woofer & Wimper, Dog Detectives and reedited reruns aired as part of the Skatebirds series (q.v.).
23skidoo 28th Aug 2021		TV Skippy The Bush Kangaroo (1968 - 1970)	Apparently this show was massively syndicated worldwide during its run. Just for fun I was checking out out what TV show was airing on local TV at the time I was born in 1969 in Saskatoon, Canada (we only had one channel at the time) - and it was this show. But by the time I was old enough to actually watch TV, it had vanished from my neck of the woods.

23skidoo 25th Oct 2020		TV Star Trek: Discovery (2017 - Now)	@carryonsidney To each their own. I consider it the worst, though so far as I write this Season 3 has been a marked improvement. EDIT: Well, until the last few episodes when everything fell apart and some aspects of the S3 finale suggest the writers got the USS Discovery confused with the TARDIS from Doctor Who. It's that level of sloppiness that turns a lot of people off.
23skidoo 7th Aug 2020		TV Killing Eve (2018 - 2022)	Added "Comedy" to the genre list, as this is considered a dramedy. Indeed, having watched it for the first time a few weeks ago, it's actually a very funny show at times.
23skidoo 7th Aug 2020		TV A Touch Of Cloth (2012 - 2014)	Added an end year for this. Apparently the trailer for Series 4 was a joke and John Hannah is apparently on record as saying the series won't be coming back. Of course if they do pick it up again, the end date can always be removed.
23skidoo 3rd May 2020		TV Lift Off With Ayshea (1969 - 1974)	Ayshea was hosting this at the same time she was appearing on Gerry Anderson's UFO. She was also popular enough at the time that I think she wrote a regular column for one of the UK youth magazines of the day, possibly Look-In.
23skidoo 3rd May 2020		TV The Tonight Show (1954 - Now)	@GimmeVinyl Fortunately many episodes of Groucho's game show You Bet Your Life survive. It was actually a talk show disguised as a game show, so we can get a good idea of how he might have handled Tonight. Sadly, most of the Tonight Shows prior to about 1970 have been lost over time. Remarkably, most of the first Steve Allen episode survives, as does audio from the opening of Carson's first show, featuring his first monologue. But complete episodes from the 1960s, both Paar and Carson, are not that common. Fortunately one surviving clip - and one of the only 1960s ones in colour (most survive as B&W) - is from about 1965 and features Groucho as a guest.
