gregs45s SUBS 6th Jun 2014		Vinyl Album Elvis Presley - Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite (1973)	A live concert broadcast from Hawaii on Jan 14th,1973.Quite a technical achievement in it's day,a chance for a lot of people to see Elvis live.Audience tickets for the Jan 14th concert and the Jan 12th pre-broadcast rehearsal shows carried no price.Each audience member was asked to pay whatever he/she could afford.The performances/merchandise raised $75,000 for the Kui Lee Cancer Fund.The press were told by Col.Parker that a worldwide audience of 1 billion was expected,even though Parker had not taken into accont that many countries,including America and Europe,would not see the concert live,due to the time of the broadcast.The first live,international,satellite television broadcast was "Our World",shown worldwide on June 25th,1967,which included Maria Callas,and was headlined by the Beatles."Aloha From Hawaii" was the first broadcast to feature just a single performer however.
