Scratchy45 18th Jul 2017		Vinyl Album Frank Sinatra - Sinatra's Swingin' Session!!! (1961)	Rear sleeve, label pics added. As side 1 label has an OT tax code, I think this is needs to become part of a Mono/Stereo pair with W1491 (will add a request).
Scratchy45 11th Jul 2017		Vinyl Album Timi Yuro - Hurt (1971)	Older amps will often have a "Mono" button which can alleviate this effect to a limited extent, though the resultant "reprocessed mono" mix won't be quite the same as the original. I always think of this as the "Collection of Golden Oldies" effect, as the original stereo mix of this Beatles compilation was the first time I experienced it. "Interfered-with stereo", as ppint would have it. A local charity shop with a long and narrow trading floor has one speaker near the door, and one placed towards the rear wall. Some of the music played there can sound a little strange,,,

Wish I still had both now.

Scratchy45 4th Jul 2017		Vinyl Album Talking Heads - More Songs About Buildings And Food (1978)	I've a run of the first four Tallking Heads albums all in these Portuguese releases, purchased in the early 1980s from the same record shop in Reading(UK) - possibly "Record Fayre". If there was any shrink-wrapping it's long gone, and I can't remember if they originally had the MCPS import duty paid labels . I'm pretty sure they were selling more cheaply than the UK release - I remember distinctive red and white price labels. They will get put up here in time..

Scratchy45 3rd Jul 2017		Vinyl Album Otis Redding And Little Joe Curtis - Here Comes Soul From Otis Redding And Little Joe Curtis (1968)	For "bama lama" or "gama lama"* it seems to be a case of the song remaining more or less the same but in different versions corresponding to the different titles. Track B5 here features a prominent backing vocalist and an organ backing (think of Chris Montez's "let's dance" for a similar organ tone). There is no "party" intro before the music begins, or honking sax. I'm pretty sure this must be what Pye released as a B-side to "She's Alright" as found here on 45cat. * both titles seem to have been released with one or more spelling variations.

Scratchy45 27th Jun 2017		Vinyl Album Ray Anthony And His Orchestra - Houseparty (1953)	Another 1950s 10" sleeve with a distinctive design. The illustrator, Geoff Sadler, seems to have been responsible for a similarly-styled railway poster for the now disused Thornton Clevelys railway station. Printer's code of "CP 53.10" on sleeve, from which I've taken date though on reflection it just proves that one printing was made at this time - mods please amend date if you feel it's too specific.

Liszt: Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 (1954)	An attractively-packaged 1950s release (Decca-distributed UK Capitol). My photographs unfortunately haven't captured the label colour accurately, which is more plum or burgundy. The rear cover has a printer code WRR/54.3, which suggests a possible March 1954 release date.

Both label and sleeve list the track as "If you could read my mind", as per the UK release and the first few seconds of the track if listened to (easily located on Youtube).

Though pressed in Germany (sleeve printed there also) my copy seems much more like a pan-european release. The label does not list any specific rights organisation e.g. GEMA/BIEM/STEMRA/MCPS. There are notes for German, French and British cat#s top right on outer sleeve, and WEA distribution companies listed bottom left of the outer sleeve for Belgium, Germany, England, France, Italy, Netherlands, Austria and Sweden. I can list the deadwax info if anyone want it.
