Vinyl Album
June Christy - June (1957)
Scans added. A singer I became aware of through Rickie Lee Jones' version of "Something Cool". I'm no fan of vibrato, but her use of it I can definitely live with. Chuck Berry, apparently, was an unlikely fan.

Vinyl Album
Robert Wilson - Tang O' The Heather (1955)
You've just saved me some scanning, redpunk :-) I'll have settle for some some other obscure 1950s 10" LPs...

Various Artists - The World Of Folk (1971)
Sleeve and label scans added - silver label text is always problematic....

Vinyl Album
Various Artists - Folk Favourites (1974)
Label scans added - sorry, no outer sleeve for my copy.

Vinyl Album
Phil Manzanera - Primitive Guitars (1982)
Scans added of my copy with gold "Promotional copy not for resale" overprinting to rear. It should therefore come as no surprise that the sticker-marks top right were from a Notting Hill Record and Tape Exchange sticker (the next stop of many an LP review copy).

Vinyl Album
John Martyn - Inside Out (1973)
Later "Bubbles" label design added: hopefully you'll be able to see the correct side 1 image (I don't, but haven't cleared my cache yet).

Vinyl Album
Fripp And Eno - Evening Star (1975)
Label scans from original Island release added - I don't have the outer sleeve for this.

Vinyl Album
The Kinks - Something Else By The Kinks
I have a sleeveless copy of this: no idea where I picked it up. I too was surprised on looking at it now to see the PRT label but Pye Cat#. though see it's been discussed already.
Dead Wax (if it's of interest to anyone) :
Side A (freehand)
NSPL 18193 A1 ▲Tone Damon T
"Damon T" on opposite side of label, very faint, but in same orientation as main text .
Side B (also freehand)
NSPL 18193 B1 ▲T

Vinyl Album
Roxy Music - Manifesto (1979)
Angel Eyes: original album version before it was given a makeover and taken onto the dancefloor. Both versions work, but in different ways. The copy I have which includes this version is inside one of the plain black inners with cat no. top right (scan added - for what it's worth) .

Vinyl Album
Dionne Warwick - The Best Of Dionne Warwick (1965)
A pretty swift "Best of...." , but then Bacharach and David did turn out the songs at a pretty rapid rate. Four of the fourteen here aren't theirs, but only one of the four was definitely released as one of her singles, so far as I can see ("You Can Have Him").

Vinyl Album
Van Morrison - Hard Nose The Highway
Details/scans added from a sleeveless copy. Put in Europe for now: French/English/German copyright statements on label perimeter, also states "Made in Germany by WEA Music GMBh". In light of comments by janiejjones on K 46 040 and K 46 066 , deadwax, details are:

Side 1:
(In Block Caps: ) STRAWBERRY (G)
(In slightly larger & different font, upper & lower case) R/S Alsdorf 46242 A3

Side 2:
(scribed? freehand): WEA - 46242 - B5 UK* DF** 20***
Asterisks do not appear in text, are a key for the following notes
*(very faint, can just make out, K even more indisinct)
** (could be PF with short stem to P )
***(opposite side of run out to WEA.. etc. sequence)

Vinyl Album
R. S. Thomas - R. S. Thomas Reading His Own Poems (1976)
Oriel - now that's a blast from the past. I remember the bookshop (did they publish too?) and gallery, but can't recall ever knowing of a record company arm.

Vinyl Album
The Three Degrees - The Three Degrees (1973)
Cover scans added, including complete gatefold inner and outer, For what it's worth I prefer the full-gatefold sleeve image as widescreen rather than pillarbox, which is how it is here.

Vinyl Album
The Modern Jazz Quartet - The Modern Jazz Quartet At Music Inn (1956)
Non-musical observation: comes from the era when US sleeves incorporated thick cardboard rather than just card.

Scratchy45
27th May 2017
Vinyl Album
Glenn Miller And His Orchestra - The Nearness Of You And Others (1969)
"interfered-with mono" - I'd love to see that phrase on an album sleeve...

Vinyl Album
The Kinks - The Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Society (1969)
Returning to the comments a while back about label/sleeve disparities, I found a striking example of this the other day. Print runs for album covers are one-offs, and relatively expensive to do. Print runs for labels are cheaper (basic label design does not vary from one release to another), and cheaper still if generic blank company labels can be used across many releases through overprinting.

If company names (or distribution) changes, then it would make economic sense to use up existing sleeve stock before commissioning any reprints with updated logos and company names. My example of a similar kind of thing happening, is the scan I recently added elsewhere here showing an Island LP sleeve (it shows the Island logo) for an Eno release, overstickered by Polydor with their catalogue number and containing a Polydor-labelled disc. In this case, EG distribution/licensing was initially through Island before changing to Polydor.

Vinyl Album
Anthony Newley With Anna Quayle - Stop The World (1961)
@redpunk - I was about to add scans from my copy - then it appeared : -) So I've added a scan of the front page of the "show souvenir" that was nestling inside the sleeve (not such an unusual thing with a stage show album).

Scratchy45

Vinyl Album
Eno - Another Green World (1977)
Scan of rear sleeve added, showing how existing Island sleeve stock was used up by Polydor: Island logo at bottom centre, Island cat# overstickered with Polydor cat# at top right.

Vinyl Album
Glen Campbell - Wichita Lineman
Reissue (unknown date) on yellow label with a new cat#, and with gold record award text.

Vinyl Album
Carole King - Tapestry (1971)
I'd have to agree with Klepsie: "Reissue" in the notes probably doesn't describe this entry now. While I don't know the exact sequence of the variants here, this is an album which sold shedloads over the long period while it was being issued on the A&M label under the same cat#. Regardless of the inevitable repressings and who was distributing at the time, I'd say reissue is a better description for the Epic issue with new cat#.

Vinyl Album
Harry Sukman - Nightfall
Sometimes I buy LPs more for the design of the cover than the music on the disc. This, like a number of 1950s albums, is a case in point.

Vinyl Album
Wychwood - Early Sunday
There's a bit of an art to it - it can be surprising how difficult it is end up with a perspective-free image. Or maybe that's just me and my camera, sorry- phone..

Scratchy45

Vinyl Album
The Foundations - From The Foundations (1967)
Scans uploaded. Not sure what the significance might be (if any) of the red Di or Dl on the right-hand side of the rear cover.

Scratchy45
16th May 2017
Vinyl Album
The Crusaders - Chain Reaction (1975)
Full set of scans now added, including both labels.

Vinyl Album
Various Artists - The Motown 20th Anniversary Album (1980)
Good spot: I didn't add the original entry, just added the scans. Will you request the correction or shall i?
