Package includes: two discs, 12 page booklet containing an essay The Tale of Ale by Vic Gammon (October 1977), Real Ale Today folder containing literature from brewers Ruddles (16 page booklet), Youngs and Robinsons, and a Free Reed feedback postcard.
Note: some confusion that the tracks on the label do not quite match the tracks listed on the rear sleeve, nor the tracks annotated in the gatefold sleeve. Looks like a few late changes happened.....

I recall in the very late 1970s/early 1980s going to the public bar at The Ram Inn at Firle, near Lewes, Sussex, once a month midweek to see Vic Gammon and the Pump and Pluck Band. It was usually only Vic plus one or two others, but they would sit informally on the bench along one side wall and play and tell tales for the evening. No doubt some of these songs were heard as we supped fine Lewes ales.
