Various Artists - Gatecrasher: Global Sound System (2000)
I reckon these are good here, as they are literally packs of 12"'s. I wouldn't kick up fuss if they were also found on LP World, though - such is the messy and disorganised nature of life.

Yes, Earthspark please do feel free to add any similar packages here.

Blowpipe - Prop (1996)
Despite the hand numbering on some of these sleeves that point towards it being a run of only 25 (my copy is 8/25) there would appear to be many more than that in circulation. There's a seller on Discogs who says he has 26/50, but even if it were only an edition of 50 then there are quite a few in open circulation.

I haven't ever seen a finished copy, so maybe there were only white labels made and the full release was cancelled ?

Gene Vincent - Sunshine (サンシャイン)
Looks like this originates from Israel rather than Japan, but we'll fly the skull'n'cross bones flag in honour of it's 99.9% certain bootleg status.

Any more info on this would be greatly welcome...

Paris Featuring Dead Prez And Public Enemy - Freedom (Radio Mix) (2003)
The Works in Sutton Coldfield is a gift and novelty outlet. It looks like they did a run of 12" vinyl clocks and applied their own label to one side of the vinyl they used.

As a result, their label isn't of any real interest to us. So this should be a Guerrilla Funk release (US) with cat# GF-1007 - have altered accordingly.

ACR - I Need Someone Tonite (1983)
Hi Paul,

Thatsunday's entry here came first, (entered Jan13, opposed to your June13) so I've moved it all over to this one.

Thanks for flagging it up...

Ramones - Rockaway Beach (1977)
Two people having bought it in the UK could be a coincidence, but it's odd that Discogs lists a Belgian pressing but no UK pressing, and three of the four currently listed on ebay are touted as Belgian (the fourth one doesn't say and has no label picture).

This does point towards the Belgian pressing being used for the UK (possibly EU-wide) issue. At the very least a UK pressing would look to be very rare !!

I'd be happy to see this left as a Belgian issue, but also have a UK entry with Notes stating that it was commonly available as a Belgian pressing.

I've linked DAF and D.A.F. to Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft, with a "See Also" note...

Hagar The Womb - The Word Of The Womb (1984)
Hagar The Womb went on to form We Are Going To Eat You. There were recently a few HTW reunion gigs, though I don't know whether that was a one-off or a longer term idea...

Had a couple of slightly confusing Corrections entered for this - can anyone tell us whether this 12" has two tracks or three, what they are, and which sides they're on ?!

Add N To (X) - Little Black Rocks In The Sun (1998)
I was undecided whether to leave Side Two blank or not, as you could argue that this isn't a one-sided record. The B-side groove has been cut so as to run for a good 20 mins, with care taken to include groove "variation", as if you were looking at a cutting of an actual piece of music. The label however is blank, and there's no reference to it having ever been considered "a track", so instead of getting too clever about it I guess it's best to leave it out.

Interestingly pointless !

Sweet - Sweet 2th (1985)
Hi harrisgame,

Thanks for the submission note about the country of release for this record...

The "Made In France" is common for Anagram/Cherry Red releases at this time, and is in no way an indicator of the actual country of issue - we would consider this a UK release (please check label scans of other "UK" entered issues...).
However, if you could give us a scan of the French language inner sleeve then that might help decide if this was in fact also a French/EU issue.

Cheers for your input :-)

Various Artists - Guess Series Volume Two (2000)
I've gleaned the first track artist from Discogs, but even there there's a blank on the name of the second track artist. I've edited as appropriate, but if anyone has firmer details, please let us know !

Sorted.

The Legend! is Jerry Thackrey - aka writer Everett True, the man credited with being responsible for inventing Kurt Cobain in the UK.

The Smiths - William, It Was Really Nothing (1984)
Nov '87 ?

I'm for it having a separate entry - despite the cat# & tracklist being the same, I think the changed cover would lead Smiths collectors to consider it as a "different" release...

Marillion - The Great Cucumber Massacre (1983)
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, and indeed hmmm. And for good luck, thrice hmmmm.

You could also point out that the bottom line of the "45r.p.m." on image 1 lines up with the top of the "f" of the "of" in rim blurb "...owner of the recorded work...", whereas on image 2 the "45r.p.m." lines up with the "o" of the "of". But, uh-ho...hang on there...on my copy the 45 r.p.m. lines up with the "r" at the end of "...owner..."...and so on and so forth.

Minute differences like this are caused by an ineviatable microshift in the process of printing - I think most people would rather we saved variations for differences in typesetting/typeface/altered wording etc, otherwise we could easily end up with literally thousands (no exaggeration here) of "variant" images !!

However, An6y66, you do undoubtedly win this months award for Most Ardently Eagle-Eyed Marillion Obsessive !

Marillion - Punch And Judy (1984)
Black labels seem to have come in around early '84. The majority of Punch & Judy's are cream, though I don't recall ever seeing a cream Assassing. The black labels for MSHs / He Knows / Garden Party would have been repressings to cope with demand after Marillion's continued success with the Fugazi album...

Capleton - The Red (1991)
Hi Redpunk,

Could the B1 track be "Foot Patrol" (by Peter Metro) ?

Are the A2 and B2 tracks versions of the vocals ?

Also, would it be possible to get the deadwax on this and check it's JA ?

Cheers !

Yr OK, An6y66 - though the scans a bit blurred, that looks like a typical mid 80's EMI sticker.

Crass - The Feeding Of The Five Thousand (1978)
Hi Paul,

There's been a mod discussion about this one, and it's generally agreed that it shouldn't be here but needs to wait for the LP World to come along.

We know that it's 45rpm and is called an EP, but the fact it's 35 mins long with so many separate tracks means that it crosses even the loosest borderline we've had in place on 12"World (there were a couple of Chiswick 45rpm LP's we deleted a few months ago for the same reason).

Sorry about that - you obviously spent quite a bit of time entering it !

Hi JJJ,

Changed this to a NZ release - it had it's own Aus release on Parlophone...
