The Dukes Of Stratosphear - You're A Good Man Albert Brown (Curse You Red Barrel) (1987)
whitewhale1965 asks"Should 'The Dukes' be part of the XTC discography?" and it's a good question. The band (XTC) did however go to extraordinary lengths to make the Dukes look and sound completely different to their usual fare. I'm happy either way but recent CD re-releases have been marketed as by XTC - The Dukes Of Stratosphear so there is a precedent for joining them together from the label itself.

The Rolling Stones - Miss You (1978)
Noticed the cover on this was a bit wonky so I have re-edited my original shot. It should appear tomorrow all squared up. Thought my glasses were playing up there for a while but no it was a bit skew-whif.

Fleshtones - Up-Front (1981)
Just checked on the Stones cover on this and it was written by Nanker, Phelge so the Jagger, Richards, Jones, Wyman, Watts composer credit on the label is indeed correct. By the way this version is a corker, fast and angsty.

Gerry And The Joy Band - Ongo Bongo Man (1985)
Seen this one has been in the top 50 for a few days running and I'm pretty sure those of you outside Australia (and maybe inside too) may not be familiar with this song. So that's why I'm posting the youtube link and even though it only has 5000 views I still like this one. It is in fact Gerry Humphries of the 60's band the Loved Ones backed by most of Daddy Cool.

New York Dolls - Personality Crisis (1990)
Linked to original 1982 release on Kamera and added barcode. This one contains what I consider to be the best studio versions of these songs and probably the best sound the Dolls ever captured in a studio. Mainly because it's rough around the edges and the guitars are right up in the mix garage band style. This EP makes the Tod Rundgren recorded versions of these songs on their first album sound very tame and lifeless in comparison. A must for Dolls fans.

Television - Prove It (1977)
My record looks just like yours Droid so I presume it is a legitimate copy it's just that there did seem to be an oversupply of this in Australia about two years ago. I don't know what caused it but I saw three copies in different cities inside a month of each other. Maybe I need to vary the types of record shops I visit? Nothing wrong with this record though both sides are great.

Television - Prove It (1977)
I'm a little suspicious of these Television 12" releases there are an awful lot of them around for a 40 year old record. I laid my hands a on mint copy last year and there are lot listed for sale on the other site. I think someone might have pressed some up somewhere (Israel, is my bet) and let a few extras out along with some Japanese looking Eno releases and some Ziggy era Bowie masquerading as European bootlegs. Yes, that's right bootlegs pretending to be other bootlegs. Anyway, the sheer number of this 12" that seemed to turn up globally about two years has made me fairly suspicious of this release.

Hey Graham7 seems we do like similar things I picked this up this morning for a couple of bucks. I think it was the cover that swayed me though.

Bob Marley And The Wailers - One Love / People Get Ready (Extended Version) (1984)
Hi Gerry and welcome to the wonderful 45 Worlds. This looks like a great 12" 45 to me. I have however edited (should appear tomorrow) your label images but you'll get the hang of the way we do things around here soon enough judging from the quality of your initial scans. What I have done is resize the labels to 800 x 800, removed the white inner sleeve to make the background transparent, straightened them up and also did a cheeky little edit on the B side to make the slight straight edge round again.

There are links to free programs that can do all of the things I have done in the add images guidelines but if you get stuck you can PM me with any questions and although I'm not a MOD on the site I have posted a fair few images so I should be able to help. Once again, welcome aboard.

Another download only release??? Label scans would help and so would a cat# but I doubt whether they even exist because I think these are digital releases only.

Einsend - Tomorrow (2015)
I don't believe this exists as a 12" single or in any physical format whatsoever. This, I believe is a download only release and there is no evidence posted to indicate it does exist in a physical form. Could you help us out with some label scans, johnandromeda or Miguel?

The Cramps - Blues Fix (2014)
BeggarsRoad, In the guidelines there is a passage explaining it somewhere but usually, labels like Domino, Ace, Charly, Rough Trade, Creation and this one Big Beat (a subsidiary of Ace) are considered independent or boutique UK labels. These labels, particularly in the modern era (post 1980's), may have their products manufactured both locally and in other countries but are still considered UK releases. The Dutch label Music On Vinyl is considered the same way and their releases are listed as from the Netherlands. The link shows a MOV release that was made in the the Netherlands at the Record Industry plant in Haarlem, as are all their records but has "made in the EU" on the label. This is to comply with European law only and does not reflect anything other than that.
In the case of this single it was locally released (not sure where it was actually made) in the UK by Ace. So basically it comes down to - the country of release (intended market) is more important than the place of manufacture. Does that make any sense?

The Pogues - Poguetry In Motion (2015)
Hey, nboldock you've stiffed yourself here and short-changed yourself two songs. Side two is missing but you'll know what to do as soon as you look at it. Anyway how does this reissue sound compared to the original because I'm sure you'll have both.

John Cale - Animal Justice (1977)
I always think of "Hedda Gabbler" as the A side of this one for some reason. Maybe that's because that's the way I always play it. Either way there's nothing here that would dent the charts but it's still a great 12" if you like John Cale.

Echo And The Bunnymen - The Cutter (1983)
Added a cleaner looking back cover scan from my copy for moderation. I also had a crack at editing the white labels, resized, cropped and straightened but the originals were fairly small and now the label printing is pixelated more than I would like but at least they're straight and the right size. So do as you will with those. Ideally, I think we need higher res images of the white labels to get them looking good. I'll send a correction to have the video link zapped and thanks to Paul Vinyl and mtibb 1 for supplying images to this entry.

Oh, artiemestieri if you could supply images of the poster and sticker that would be great. Personally, I don't think I've ever seen the poster so I am intrigued to see what it looks like.

The Claypool Lennon Delirium - Lime And Limpid Green (2017)
Better than you might perhaps imagine. These are faithful but lively and innovative interpretations of classic songs from the cusp of the 70's and beyond. A pleasant surprise.

The hidden back cover uploaded by JesterWX is the EU issue and a should be put back on full view as the EU variant of the back cover. They are different!

Electric Light Orchestra - Telephone Line
A lot of this is going on with LPs as well. The thing is it's quite a clever ruse with Japanese pressings being renowned for sound quality yet seldom seen by most of us in the west. Real Japanese pressings were for usually bought by audiophile collectors mainly due to them being very expensive in comparison to locally produced releases.

So most buyers would not know what the correct label or what the other finer details were meant to be on a Japanese pressing. To my knowledge these bootlegs are usually quiet (tracking) fairly high quality digital to vinyl transfers. Enough to fool most people. I went to Melbourne at the start of the year and was surprised to see nearly all of Brian Eno's EG albums including the ambient series 1-4 all on sale as new Japanese pressings but they were cheap and the shop also stocked a wide range of other bootlegs so luckily I twigged they were fake.

I took one to the counter and said "this is good isn't it?" and the man behind the counter replied "yeah that's a good album". Then I said " I know it's a good album but I'm talking about the production on this bootleg, it's very deceiving". He said "they're that price for a reason but they're still pretty good".

This kind of bootlegging gives real bootleggers a bad name and is fraud rather than supplying hardcore fans of a band with rare or unreleased material. Raise the pirate on this one! You can do that by requesting the MODS for skull and cross bones be the country or you can select it when entering the country when you post your entry. Buyers beware this practice is at epidemic proportions at the moment.

And just for the record I've got one too.

Most likely not but "s' is definitely next to "a" on the keyboard and this is probably a typo. A shot (pic) of this release can be found here so I'll send a correction.

The Jam - 4 Side Affects (1980)
Hello Hooray,

I did own "All Mod Cons","Setting Sons", "Snap with the Live EP" and "Dig The New Breed" but let them all go. "Sound Affects" is the only album I've kept. I also had the "Beat Surrender" double EP but it got stolen but still have the 12" of "A Town Called Malice / Precious" and the 7"s of "The Bitterest Pill" and "This Is The Modern World" but let "Funeral Pyre" go about 10 years ago. So you could say I have listened to this band beyond the scope of this EP.

Personal taste is always subjective and I'm sure many people still love the Jam and always will. Obviously that's not the case with me though and I stand by the earlier comment. It's just my opinion, it's not a fact and I suppose I was being a bit cheeky too as I do still have some other stuff by the Jam. There's no accounting for taste, particularly in my case I can be fickle sometimes and chop and change with the wind.

We can't all like the same things and I can't even like some things as much as I used to. Time marches on and opinions change.

Have A Nice Day.

Alexei Sayle - 'Ullo John! Gotta New Motor? Pt. III (1982)
Only released in Australia with "Pop Up Toasters" on the B side replacing "Ullo John! Gotta New Motor? (Part IV)" which was deemed far to uncouth for our civilised ears Down Under. I was annoyed about it at the time but now that our local version is unusual I'm kind of fond of it. By the way Pop Up Toasters is a bit of hoot too if you don't know it.

An Australia only release that contains the entire collection of the best of the Jam. Time hasn't been kind to this band and even getting through this can be a struggle these days.

Talking Heads - Swamp (1983)
This is an Australian only release in this format and combination of songs. According to the net it is a rare release but I'm a bit surprised. I have owned this one since it came out so it's not rare at all in my house and still gets a whirl at least once a year.
