12" Single
Kraftwerk - Tour De France (Remix) (1984)
although not listed anywhere on the labels, this is the "Breakdance" remix from 1984

I've finally found a copy of this - mine has the same tracks, but has black paper labels with silver text - the layout is identical

Here's the matrix numbers to help identify this issue

12 EMI 5413 A - 3U - 1 - 2

12 EMI 5413 B - 3U - 1 - 2

These are on the black label copy that I have

Timings:
A 6:47
B1 6:44
B2 3:00

copyright date is 1983 on both issues - so that doesn't help much

Tears For Fears - The Way You Are (Extended Version) (1983)
well it's taken 38 years, but I finally have a stock copy to go with my white label promo - worth the wait as it's a great single - despite being repeatedly left off their compilations
Too late for "The Hurting" album, and 18 months too early for their "Songs From The Big Chair" album ..... so it's hard to find on CD - but it is out there if you look

Often overlooked, but worth a listen ....

Patrick Juvet - I Love America (1978)
well it took me 3 goes to find a mint one .... first one had creased labels, 2nd one water marks on the playing surface .... 3rd time lucky

oddly copies 2 and 3 turned up on different stalls at the same record fair ..... having not seen a copy for over 10 years!

great single

12" Single
Gibson Brothers - Cuba (1979)
my virtually identical copy has the cat. no. 12 X WIP 6483 on the A & B labels - other than that, the 12" is identical - same track timings etc.
I've just added it as an alternative cat. no. as it doesn't warrant a new entry

12" Single
The Evasions - Wikka Wrap (1981)
group is believed to feature "Linda Taylor" who was also on the Gonzalez hit "Haven't Stopped Dancing Yet"

At least that's what she told me a few weeks ago

12" Single
The Untouchables [Two Men A Drum Machine And A Trumpet] - I'm Tired Of Being Pushed Around (1987)
Not to be confused with any other similarly named groups - the labels on the 12" appear to have been deliberately misleading - the main group name is basically fake, the other group name is different to the one used on the hit single 7 Inch Hit Single version

Linx - Rise And Shine (1980)
unusually for a 12", this "Made In France" UK issue has metallic effect silvery/blue plastic labels normally seen on 7 inch singles

Timings:
A: 3:45
B: 6:03

Robin Scott - Eureka-Ka-Ka! (Extended Club Mix) (1983)
comes in a glossy black/blue/white card sleeve and black paper labels/white text

my copy has the A side label applied both sides

Robin Scott more famously had the hit Pop Musik under the pseudonym "M"

Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark - Messages (1980)
result - just found my original 10" I bought in the early 80s - and it has the green labels

Prince - 1999 (1983)
despite the SAM cat. no. this release is not marked up as a promo

2 possibilities as to its origin - was it part of a double pack or given away free with the album of the same name?

I've never seen one before, and until today, I thought I had the standard 12" ...

12" Single
Erasure - Indian Rubber (Mega Mix) (Part 1) (1990)
artist is credited simply as "ERA" on the labels - no mention at all of Erasure anywhere

12" Single
Tears For Fears - Pale Shelter (You Don't Give Me Love) (Extended Version) (1985)
not to be confused with the original issue in 1982 - this reissue was given a distinctive new sleeve colouring - the 1982 copies are all turquoise sleeves with a black & white image on both sides, this reissue is a light brown colour, with sepia toned photos
the labels are very similar, the reissues have turquoise copyright details around the edge on both sides, but the original copies have white lettering on side 1, and turquoise on side 2
A small variation, but enough to tell them apart if you find one that's lost its sleeve.

Matrix Numbers:
A: IDEA 212 A//2 Δ 420 R 11
B: IDEA 212 B//2 Δ 420 R 11

Please note the Δ symbol on both sides is inverted, but there doesn't appear to be one in the Windows character set (I tried inserting a character from the Wingdings 3 font, but the website doesn't support it)

Mike And The Mechanics - Word Of Mouth (1991)

Eurythmics - The King And Queen Of America (Remix) (1990)
my 12" promo has the same cat. no. but the track listing is different - I'll create a new entry

12" Single
Art Of Noise - Close Up (1984)
technically it's not "unreleased" - it was given to shops by the record company reps - at the same time as the similar white label copies with the same cat. no. - the only real difference is the matrix numbers

The Art Of Noise Featuring Tom Jones - Kiss (The Battery Mix) (1988)
comes in a black die cut sleeve with a large white rectangular sticker with red text "I Think I'd Better Dance Now"

Desireless - Voyage Voyage (Euro Remix Remix) (1988)
Remix Remix isn't a typo ... that's what it says on the sleeve, of course this was then remixed by Pete Hammond at PWL for the reissue ... that must be a remix remix remix!

Godley And Creme - Cry (Extended Version) (1985)
a Godley Creme Horn anyone?

12" Single
ABC - ABC Megamix Of Album Tracks (1985)
matrix number indicates that this was the B side of a second 12 inch of "Ocean Blue" that appears to have been cancelled due to poor sales?

all tracks on this 12" are mixed together seamlessly into one long track

Perhaps someone out there does have a 12" of Ocean Blue with the same cat. no. as this?

12" Single
ABC - Ocean Blue (Atlantic Mix) (1985)
I believe there was a second 12" planned with the cat no. NTXR 110 - will add it as a new entry, as I have a single sided white label copy of the B side! ... it'll make sense when I've added it

12" Single
Nick Straker - A Walk In The Park (Extended Mix)(1987 PRO) (1987)
production makes this sound like a "Dead Or Alive" record ... make of that what you will - but it works rather well

12" Single
Bryan Ferry - Don't Stop The Dance (Special 12" Re-Mix) (1985)
I have a 12" Pic Disc somewhere - Don't Stop The Dance on one side, the other has Slave To Love

will add it when I can find my copy - I know where it is, but not easy to get to

Bryan Ferry - Slave To Love (Special 12" Re-Mix) (1985)
my copy is a white label promo - large 1 on A side, large 2 on B side - appears to be same cat. no. as the stock issues
Timing for A side is 5:56

12" Single
Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark - Messages (1980)
I'll have to try and get the green label version, as it's a different production credit, then it's a different issue, and warrants its own separate entry ... there again, if it's just a misprint, then it should stay here

EBay listing - just spotted a Pink/White labelled copy - this is the Mike Howlett mix

12" Single
Duran Duran - Planet Earth (1981)
cat. no. PSLP 331 is taken from the runout groove - it's the same pressing as this issue - Yellow "White Label" copy + Paper Label Copy

12" Single
Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark - Telegraph (Extended Version) (1983)
there is an alternative version of this 12" with a difference mix on the A side
The version timed at 5:35 has the matrices :-
A Side:- VS-580-12-A1
B Side:- VS-580-12-B1

no other text is visible in the runout
the alternative mix version has the same cat. no., but I believe the matrix numbers will differ

Both 12" singles of this track are very rare

12" Single
Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark - Secret (Extended Mix) (1985)
another one from a chart return shop - available in very limited numbers, there would've been no way for a record shop to order in copies for people, as it shares the same catalogue number as the stock copies of "Secret"

12" Single
Motörhead - Ace Of Spades (1993)
a good version of this - I bought the CD single at the time, I never saw the 12", although I do have a WGAF 12" - a CCN remix of "Can You Feel The Force" by The Real Thing - I've just added it today
