went to college to learn radio but ended up in live music [concert promotion/production, band mgr & tour mgmt 40+ years]. I did late 70s college radio but coming from early 70s prog & 60s pop. Spun SNF disco & oldies rock-hops 3-4 years in a club and mobile. Also worked retails records 1980 managing a store for a year & returned to retail for 12 years at Cincinnati's oldest and 1st used record store Mole's for 12 years in the 2010s. Working to compile the top 1000 song artists recordings of all time b4 I die remastering an 80 min CD of each. 1000 artists is more like 1500 once I combined Tsort's global mix with musicvf's more US/UK list. I'm not worried about the nuances of 45s so much as curating and defining the life of a record; when it charted and for how long, etc after growing up listening to WSAI-AM T40 and WOXR/WEBN/WVUD-FM prog & AOR in SW Ohio in the 60s-70s.

BenLPMarts 8th Oct 2024		12" Single The Fixx - Deeper And Deeper	The more common pro 12in was a 4-trk EP with Deeper short & long + 2 more songs Sorcerer by Stevie Nicks and Tonight Is What It Means To Be Young by Fire Inc written by Steinman. That version came in a white jacket custom sleeve black printing. It's in Various Artists.
BenLPMarts 17th Sep 2024		12" Single Grace Jones - Crush (Extended Remix)	There were also promo versions of this 12in some in full art jacket and some in generic sleeve with custom sticker under the cat # SPRO-9981 / 2. The artwork shows dates of 1985 & 1986 but most believe this was released in March 1987 in US & Canada. I couldn't find a review to back that up but it 1st charted on BB dance 4.11.87.
BenLPMarts 1st Sep 2024		12" Single Grace Jones - Warm Leatherette	That date of 28 June 1980 was the 1st chart date on the BB Disco 100. My expected go for adds 'radio' date would be 23 or 24 June or just June 1980 assuming it charted right away. My google search found no hits for a review tho one my be in BB, CB or RW. For fun i checked R&R and in 1980 Grace Jones was WAY off their radar of 'they track only RADIO songs' and Grace's dance-alternative of 1980 switch from disco too radical.
