I'm collecting vinyl since 1963. My first LP was 'Die Beatles' ('Die' is just a german article, 'Die' for 'The'. It has nothing to do with the english verb 'to die' … of course not). Label and number was 'Hörzu HZE 117' taken from the Electrola catalogue. I bought it for 50 Pfennigs from a friend of mine.
This record initialized a life long passion collecting vinyl and later also CDs, DVDs and other formats. So in 2011 I had about 10000 Singles, 8000 LPs, 15000 CDs and many many music films on different media.
My favourite band to collect were The Beatles. I not only collected all their records from different countries but also other memorabilia like golden records, guitars, clocks, mugs, anything.
In that particular year a fire destroyed not only our house but also my complete collection. I escaped from the fire literally in the last second. But 48 years of collecting also went up in flames. I was devastated but ……… alive. So I decided to start again. And 'Die Beatles' Hörzu HZE 117 was the first to start with. I got a fine copy but it was not as cheap as the first one. Slowly my collection grows bigger again and I still enjoy collecting.
Sorry, but my records are not for sale and I don't have the time to make mp3's.
I would like to emphasize once again that my pictures are accessible to everyone free of charge here on the Internet.
