 As someone who dealt in the wholesale of these 12" singles from 1975-1981, most were primarily a "come on" to the record buying public to enhance sales, and so increase chart position.

NOTE the same catalogue number above, as the equivalent 7" single by the same artist, so would go onto the BMRB (British Market Research Bureau) charts if sold in a chart return retail outlet. If I recall correctly, these sold at the same price as a 45 single, which I believe was 99p at that time.

Only later when BMRB disallowed the addition of 12" singles as chart returns did 12" singles get issued with "extended disco versions", with Atlantic adding a T suffix to the catalogue number. Consequently the price rose to around £1.99p each copy, but there are anomalies which anyone can seek out by perusing thousands of pages on this website.....and the best of British luck to you...one and all......

All 12" Singles of this Vintage are just Blown Up copy's of the Singles, just better Quality. H.

 I thaught the review for the 7" mentioned a LONG version of this on 12" rather than just 3 mins+. presume that was just a PROMO 12".
