Billy Two 22nd Jul 2013		12" Single Marillion - The Great Cucumber Massacre	Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, and indeed hmmm. And for good luck, thrice hmmmm. You could also point out that the bottom line of the "45r.p.m." on image 1 lines up with the top of the "f" of the "of" in rim blurb "...owner of the recorded work...", whereas on image 2 the "45r.p.m." lines up with the "o" of the "of". But, uh-ho...hang on there...on my copy the 45 r.p.m. lines up with the "r" at the end of "...owner..."...and so on and so forth. Minute differences like this are caused by an ineviatable microshift in the process of printing - I think most people would rather we saved variations for differences in typesetting/typeface/altered wording etc, otherwise we could easily end up with literally thousands (no exaggeration here) of "variant" images !! However, An6y66, you do undoubtedly win this months award for Most Ardently Eagle-Eyed Marillion Obsessive ! ;-D

The majority of Punch & Judy's are cream, though I don't recall ever seeing a cream Assassing. The black labels for MSHs / He Knows / Garden Party would have been repressings to cope with demand after Marillion's continued success with the Fugazi album...

Billy Two 21st Jun 2013		12" Single Crass - The Feeding Of The Five Thousand	Hi Paul, There's been a mod discussion about this one, and it's generally agreed that it shouldn't be here but needs to wait for the LP World to come along. We know that it's 45rpm and is called an EP, but the fact it's 35 mins long with so many separate tracks means that it crosses even the loosest borderline we've had in place on 12"World (there were a couple of Chiswick 45rpm LP's we deleted a few months ago for the same reason). Sorry about that - you obviously spent quite a bit of time entering it ! BT

This Tigertailz release actually had it's own dedicated French issue - see here ... The country of manufacture doesn't necessarily equal the country of release ! BT

Billy Two 1st Jun 2013		12" Single Jah Wobble - V.I.E.P.	This looks like a classic "exception to the rule" ! It's 33rpm and 34 mins long which would usually exclude a release from this site, but as you say JJJ it was very clearly marketed as a 12" EP, even down to the pricing...
Billy Two 1st Jun 2013		12" Single Blondie - Rapture (Special Disco Mix)	There's little doubt that the paper labels are genuine, though the injection moulded labels are also full UK release. The French release has it's own cat# (PC 8664). Pressing UK releases in France to meet demand (or possibly due to cheaper costs) was a common practice for many years, and there are numerous examples of UK vinyl having the legend "Made In France" on them. It's a constant bane for these Cat sites and causes confusion on a regular basis, but the fact is that the country of manufacture does not necessarily equal the country of release. The current example of this are the many records pressed in the Czech Republic - it's cheaper, they're generally better quality than many British pressings, and will often have "Manufactured in CZ" on them...but this doesn't make them Czech releases.

I didn't have an ellipse cropping facility on my PC for the first couple of years I was adding to 45Cat, so I know it isn't always possible. Basically, if you can crop, please do - if you can't, then keep 'em coming anyhow ! :-)
