confranfan SUBS 10th Jun 2017		Vinyl Album Connie Francis - Connie Francis "Live" At The Sahara In Las Vegas	For some time it was concluded that MGM E/SE 4411 was the last confirmed YELLOW/BLACK label pressing by E.M.I. who, in 1967, their final year as Australian MGM licenses, had also adopted the BLACK/MULTI design. Several years ago, copies of E.M.I. MGM E/SE 4382 CONNIE FRANCIS MOVIE GREATS OF THE 60'S were discovered which renders the information above erroneous. Additionally, copies of E.M.I. E/SE 4448 CONNIE FRANCIS LOVE ITALIAN STYLE have been uncovered as evidenced by scans provided. Copies of both versions of MGM E/SE 4382 E.M.I. YELLOW/BLACK label & MGM SE 4448 LOVE ITALIAN STYLE have been entered to the site as appropriate.

ENCORE was one of the world's first budget labels to specialize in the reissue of original full-price albums. The label was first introduced by the parent British EMI company several years earlier but, prior to MGM's Stateside launch of their own Metro label, no agreement existed for the marketing of Connie Francis albums on anything other than the standard rate. The British Encore label, which, by the mid-Sixties, took a back seat to newer budget arrivals MUSIC FOR PLEASURE and REGAL STARLINE, employed a logo featuring a pair of hands raised in applause. The above album is part of a series of releases which "borrowed" the Encore name and logo but appear on the MGM label. Items issued in 1965 were supplied in plain covers containing title of the collection, details of contents, catalog number, the words "ENCORE SERIES" and logo, and with the familiar YELLOW/BLACK MGM label design reproduced in PALE GREEN and BLACK or in some cases the Turquoise & Silver label as well. Those released in late 1965-1966 were housed in original picture sleeves and with a TURQUOISE and SILVER label design as far as research has shown.
