Focus B 22nd May 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumHoagy Carmichael - Hoagy Carmichael Sings Hoagy Carmichael | Later re-issued on MCA MCL 1620.

Focus B 21st May 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumBenny Hill - Benny Hill Sings (?) | ReviewBenny Hill Sings? Yes he does and very well at that. He also wrote his own material.
With top arrangement by Tony Hatch, it's a must for fans of humorous records and the work of Hatch. I like both, so it's a match made in heaven for me. The mono mix is also far better.
My only gripe is the lack of credit for the female co vocalist on a couple of songs.
Really is a fine album from start to finish.

Focus B 21st May 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumYes - Going For The One | Got a very cheap copy in a nice condition. Unfortunately, it's missing its inner sleeve. It looks like a later issue with an A5 handwritten matrix, so possible it wasn't included in later pressings.
|
Focus B 12th May 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Hits Greatest Stiffs | I don't know if my memory is playing tricks on me, but I'm sure there was a Stiff various artists compilation which included The Damned's New Rose, Alberto's Kill from the Sniff Rock EP and Wreckless Eric's Whole Wide World.
I thought it was this one or A Bunch Of Stiffs. Obviously not.

Focus B 12th May 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - Bunch Of Stiffs | My copy is a CBS pressing.

Focus B 12th May 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumPetula Clark - The Other Man's Grass Is Always Greener | Mystery as to why Pye introduced what's now known as the "Temporary blue label". It only lasted for around 3-4 months before the blue version of the "Top Hat" appeared.
One possibility was the winding up of the Picadilly label at the end of '67?
Anyone know the reason?

Focus B 9th May 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumBenny Hill - Words And Music | Uploaded sleeve with sticker promoting Ernie, rear cover and labels.
|
Focus B 9th May 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumGene Pitney - Pitney Today | Rear of sleeve and labels uploaded.
|
Focus B 9th May 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumBenny Hill - Benny Hill Sings Ernie The Fastest Milkman In The West | Must be one of the fastest budget re-issues ever, seeing the original Columbia version was issued only in late 1971.
This MFP version is the one I remember, but as an oddity the original Columbia version is more commonly encountered in second hand stalls nowadays.

Focus B 25th Apr 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - The Most Collection (Volume 1) | Had my copy for nearly 40 years, only just noticed it being Made In Holland. Like my Holland pressed Volume 2 the sleeve is printed in the UK, although only Volume 2 has a front laminated sleeve.
|
Focus B 23rd Apr 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Who - My Generation | Re Wordnwot's comments the letter B after the 1 would suggest the cutting engineer in code form. In this instance, B would suggest Ron Mason.
Some good info on Decca releases here.

Focus B 22nd Apr 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - The Most Collection (Volume 2) | Both excellent compilations and at a budget price at that. With both albums there's sometthing for everyone.
I like them both!

Focus B 2nd Apr 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Who - The Who Sell Out | Only recently obtained a copy. Didn't know what I'd been missing over the years.
This makes the more familiar stereo version resemble unfinished demos in comparison!
Brilliant.

Focus B 29th Mar 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Who - The Who Sell Out | Do original copies of the stereo album have the locked groove at the end of Side 2?
|
Focus B 24th Mar 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Bambi Slam - The Bambi Slam | The position of the sticker on the front varies between copies.
On mine it's to the top left of the CND symbol.
|
Focus B 22nd Mar 2022 | | 12" SingleSpit The Pips - Up A Gum Tree | Also contains single sided A4 lyric sheet. Not uploaded for copyright issues and personal address information.

Focus B 16th Mar 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Mamas And The Papas - 20 Golden Hits | Uploaded front and rear sleeve. Inner gatefold identical to the Probe release of the same compilation already submitted.
|
Focus B 14th Mar 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumThe Beach Boys - The Best Of The Beach Boys | Remarkably, this mono version was still in production with later lime green labels.

Focus B 3rd Mar 2022 | | 12" SingleDaryll-Ann - I Could Never Love You EP | I picked up a 12" white label demo housed in an incorrect sleeve. Usual black die cut but the sticker on the front is wrong.
Clearly not the record I expected it to be, but checking the inner groove matrix confirms the record above.
What a pleasant surprise. Never heard of this outfit before, but this is rather good!
|
Focus B 1st Mar 2022 | | 12" SingleThe Motors - Airport | Looks like they used up the special labels designed for the debut album and Dancing The Night Away12" on earlier pressings.
|
Focus B 1st Mar 2022 | | 12" SingleSp!n - Scratches (In The Sand) | Labels uploaded. Also the sleeve variation which takes on an orange rather than pink theme.

Focus B 18th Feb 2022 | | 12" SingleGhost Dance - Celebrate | Also available as a 12" picture disc.

|
Focus B 16th Feb 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumWe Are Going To Eat You - Everywhen | Uploaded this copy before realising the album has already been posted under the incorrect Everywhen artist credit.
Perhaps moderators could merge the two please?

|
Focus B 24th Jan 2022 | | 12" SingleInspiral Carpets - Find Out Why | B1 recorded Live by Nick Garside at Square One, June 1989. Plays at 33 1/3rd RPM running at nearly 17 minutes!
|
Focus B 20th Jan 2022 | | 12" SingleNed's Atomic Dustbin - Happy | I thought that MM, but the catalogue number and barcode are identical.
I would have thought the barcode at least would have differed had it been a re-issue?
Interestingly this 12" is listed as Sony Soho Square on Discogs, but the images show the same rear sleeve, track order and Furtive labels as the copy I've uploaded here!
