fredhoyt 22nd Mar 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumThelma Walters - Thelma Walters | This is the only Themla Walters release on any of the 45cat pages. Don't know anything about her... nice "bluesy," "jazzish," voice. Don't know it she's playing the piano, but that's pretty nice also...

fredhoyt 6th Jan 2022 | | Vinyl AlbumMartin Adam Willson - He's In Charge Here! | Probably didn't sell too many copies after November 22, 1963... hence the "NR" stamp on back of cover.

fredhoyt 19th Jan 2021 | | Vinyl AlbumWolfman Jack - Fun And Romance | After listening to Track B3 I'm sure that this wasn't composed by G. Autry / F. Rose. More likely the composers were Bradford, Lewis -- it IS the Little Anthony And The Imperials' song...
fredhoyt 1st May 2020 | | 78 RPMJohnny Desmond - By The River Seine / Woman | Added commercial record label scans. "B" Track Song Title AND Composers are incorrect on the commercial label. Matrix #85207 is correct...
"Woman" is the "A" Track, tracks need to be switched.
I'm not sure what Coral did on this.. The title ("The River Seine") and composers (LaFarge, Roberts, Holt) are correct (for that song), but the music on the record is "By The River Seine" composed by Silver, Sherman and Lewis.
The recording "The River Seine" is on a Doris Day 78 38611, and is a completely different song.

fredhoyt 29th Apr 2020 | | 78 RPMRay Anthony - The Bunny Hop / The Hokey Pokey | Added record label scans. According to the 45rpm release of Capitol 2427 [record=f2427]F2427[/record]
"The Bunny Hop" is the "A" Track.. would it be different with the 78rpm release?
Thanks Xi..

fredhoyt 28th Apr 2020 | | 78 RPMThe Three Suns - Shaga, Shuga, Shuffle / Twilight Time | Not sure what Majestic's / The Three Suns' strategy was with this release? Was it a different "B" Track to get more royalties? Were they pushing "Shaga, Shuga, Shuffle" to get another hit (and more royalties for "Twilight Time")? Hmm..?
fredhoyt 28th Apr 2020 | | 78 RPMNat "King" Cole - The Greatest Inventor (Of Them All) / Mona Lisa | Added commercial record label scans that (almost) match the promo scans -- one small difference is that the "B" Track ("Mona Lisa") went from a "Vocal Group" to "Vocal" I wonder if "Mona.." was already getting more recognition?
fredhoyt 25th Apr 2020 | | 78 RPMBuddy Morrow - Night Train / Vereda Tropical | Added alternate record label scans. The "A" Track -- with the Composer Jimmy Forrest. Not sure who those composers are on the current scan in top position? Maybe a different song? Hmm..?
xi -- thanks for that info, I see you changed the Composer credits

fredhoyt 24th Apr 2020 | | 78 RPMAmerican Concert Orchestra - The Blue Danube / Wine, Woman And Song / Sweetheart Waltz | I wonder if this is the first Sonora record issued? It's the only one I've seen with an "S" prefix (S-1000).
fredhoyt 24th Apr 2020 | | 78 RPMGolden And Hughes - Down In Turkey Hollow / Sugar Moon | "Darky Shout" / "Darky Duet" -- Yikes!! I wonder when they stopped putting that on the labels..?
fredhoyt 22nd Apr 2020 | | 78 RPMFrank Chacksfield - Terry's Theme / Limelight | Added record label scans. "A" Track should be Terry's Theme From "Limelight"
"B" Track is incidental music from "Limelight"
fredhoyt 16th Apr 2020 | | 78 RPMCount Basie - All Of Me / Rusty Dusty Blues | With a nod to nomanfeer I have added a cleaner (no sticker) record label scan of the "A" Track -- not sure if that was the reason the "B" Track is currently in the top position (or not)?
One of the scans should be moved up the queue.
fredhoyt 15th Apr 2020 | | 78 RPMVaughn Monroe - Tallahassee / I Wish I Didn't Love You So | I'm not sure how 20-2294 is any different than this entry? I can add label scans, but it would seem a little redundant.
fredhoyt 15th Apr 2020 | | 78 RPMGreen Brothers' Novelty Band - La Veeda / Desert Dreams | Added record label scans. Posted a correction for BROTHERS' instead of Brothers (added possession apostrophe), then noticed that the Composers were different also (first name added to surname) -- maybe there is a different label with different information on it? Anyway, my copy added with different information for Artist and Composers...
fredhoyt 14th Apr 2020 | | 78 RPMGuy Lombardo And His Royal Canadians - Auld Lang Syne / Home On The Range | RD,
The "Star" on a 45 indicates the "B" Track, it's probably the same for the Decca 78s. Nobody has added a scan of the "A" Track (yet).
fredhoyt 14th Apr 2020 | | 78 RPMLarry Clinton - My Reverie / Boogie Woogie Blues | This must be a re-release of a Victor recording? All the other Larry Clinton 78s were originally on Victor NOT RCA Victor.
fredhoyt 13th Apr 2020 | | 78 RPMCount Basie - House Rent Boogie / Take A Little Off The Top | "B" Track could almost be a novelty recording... "..a woman is just like a barber, they both "Take A Little Off The Top" (especially Delilah / Samson) (heehee)
fredhoyt 13th Apr 2020 | | 78 RPMSam Price And His Texas Blusicians - Harlem Gin Blues / Why Don't You Love Me Anymore | Nice two-sider by Ruby Smith on the Decca Sepia Series -- blues at its best (IMO). I wonder if she was the composer of the "A" Track?
fredhoyt 10th Apr 2020 | | 78 RPMMarlene Dietrich - Lili Marlene / Symphonie | Added alternate record label scan for "A" Track, and a scan for "B" Track. This release looks to be parts 1/2 of 8 Sides Album No. A-675. I can't locate the other three record in the set.
fredhoyt 10th Apr 2020 | | 78 RPMDinah Washington - I'll Wait / It's Too Soon To Know | Added record with label scans. Don't know which would be considered the "A" Track? Both sides are classic Dinah...
fredhoyt 9th Apr 2020 | | 78 RPMKay Starr - Comes A-Long A-Love / Three Letters | "B" Track lyrics sound suspiciously like the spoken lyrics of The Velvetones' "The Glory Of Love" -- does anyone else see the similarities? I wonder if Billy Rose / Hal Stanley ever filed a lawsuit? Hmm..?
fredhoyt 8th Apr 2020 | | 78 RPMDinah Washington - Am I Really Sorry / I Challenge Your Kiss | Added alternate record label scan for "A" Track -- Composer Wettergren instead of Wettergreen. Wonder what his / her name really is, or is it both?
Thanks Xi, wonder which came first the misspelled or correct version? My "B" side is exactly the same.
fredhoyt 6th Apr 2020 | | 78 RPMEddy Howard - (It's No) Sin / My Wife And I | Added record label scan for "A" Track with a different title -- "Sin" instead of "It's No Sin" or "(It's No) Sin". "B" Track on my record is same as Bob1951's scan.
Wonder which one came first? On 45cat the "Sin" label is in top position...
fredhoyt 6th Apr 2020 | | 78 RPMPatti Page - All My Love (Bolero) / Roses Remind Me Of You | Added alternate record label scans, "A" Track has Henri Contet as vocalist.. don't know him?
fredhoyt 5th Apr 2020 | | 78 RPMDoris Day With Harry James - The Very Thought Of You / Limehouse Blues | fixbutte,
I just wish the mods were consistent with Artist's listings.. there is one other Doris Day record from the "Man With A Horn" album listed on 78cat -- that one credits Doris Day With Harry James. The other two Doris Day (+?) records have yet to be added, so no credit given yet.
It would seem to me that to be consistent Doris Day would be listed as the Artist, and "with Harry James and his Orchestra" in the notes, or. as 45cat has them listed -- Doris Day With Harry James And His Orchestra (on all four sides).
fixbutte, thanks for the consistency -- when I get to the other two records in the set I will add them as Doris Day And Harry James (against my will) LOL
fredhoyt 4th Apr 2020 | | 78 RPMDoris Day With Harry James - The Very Thought Of You / Limehouse Blues | Mike Gann,
OK.. I only added the record label scans. The "Artist" (according to the scans I added) should be Doris Day NOT Doris Day And Harry James -- this is unless the original poster (Groovy) has knowledge of a label that states Doris Day And Harry James are the Artist(s) of the "A" Track. Does that make sense?
fredhoyt 4th Apr 2020 | | 78 RPMDoris Day With Harry James - The Very Thought Of You / Limehouse Blues | Added record label scans -- they show the Artist of the "A" Track as Doris Day With Harry James and his Orchestra NOT Doris Day And Harry James. Original poster (Groovy) has this information in the "Notes" section...
fredhoyt 4th Apr 2020 | | 78 RPMRosemary Clooney - Half As Much / Poor Whip | Except for the composer credits this entry looks like 39710 --
