GEMSMFAN 31st Aug 2016		CD Album ABBA - The Singles: The First Ten Years	This release included a fiber sheet which when stored in the case for many years, dried out and marred one of the two discs. In my case, disc 1 was effected. When zooming into image 1140338, it is visible.

GEMSMFAN 27th Aug 2016		CD Album Karen Carpenter - Karen Carpenter	Looks like an import to me... note the LC0485 (European label code) and PY900 (PolyGram distribution code) in the box on the back inlay. I see the Hollywood, CA.. but the catalog number is also foreign... PolyGram sequence U.S. A&M used "CD" letter prefix, then a 75021 number prefix on reissues of A&M CD's. I would use "Europe".. doesn't look like U.S. Karen had a great voice and died too young, unfortunately to the condition she had.

GEMSMFAN 13th Aug 2016		CD Album Stray Cats - Gonna Ball	The liner notes have a typo. Jackson Heights, N.J. (there is no such place). Stray Cats are standing in front of the Airline Diner, which is near LaGuardia Airport, in Astoria (Queens), N.Y. Supposedly, used in the movie, "Good Fellas", according to the link I supplied. The Stray Cats were from Long Island.. Massapequa, N.Y. Brian Setzer, the lead singer has had a successful solo career.

I got this home only to find that the record inside was the Polar "Ring Ring" album! Never returned it. the store closed a long time ago.

The sticker has the number merely so it can be matched up with the correct jewel case.

My copy is a gatefold cover with the insert image on the inside of the back (right) jacket. The inside front (left) has a black & white photo collage of scenes from the movie. Just noticed: * black / spectrum burst label: 1973 * tan / brown border label: 1977 reissue (gatefold) * sky, clouds, rainbow label: 1980 reissue (gatefold??)

GEMSMFAN 3rd Jul 2016		CD Album Go West - Go West	Just noticed, your disc doesn't match it's case info Your disc has F2-21495 (Capitol's distribution cat. no.) vs. VK-41495 (previous CBS dist. cat. no.). I visit and buy from a used Record/CD shop in my area and one thing that really bothers me is that the shop personnel place empty jewel cases for display (for security).. ala the "Lift" System, but when to take the case to the counter to purchase a CD, you don't necesssarily get the disc that came with that case. I wonder if this is the case here?

This is New York City midtown with the overhead passages being the New York Central RR "High Line" freight tracks. Elevated tracks went into buildings (sidings/docks) for trains to deliver goods. This may very well have been the meat packing district. The line is long abandoned because trucks (lorries?) now make deliveries. Most of the straight stretch was converted to a an elevated continuous running walking park.
