George Slv 21st Oct 2014		Vinyl Album Sonny James - Southern Gentleman	His first album, apparently released after the hit Young Love, without including it. It is such early country music style that it will not be appreciated later. Includes his first single version of 'Til The Last Leaf Shall Fall, which still sounds fine tho it was vastly improved in his 1960s rerecording. That and Forgive Me are the only songs that interest me. Cold Cold Heart also has merit but I have just heard it so many times lifetime.

George Slv 3rd Oct 2014		Classical Item London Symphony Orchestra, Antal Dorati - Respighi: The Birds / Brazilian Impressions	A reissue of the original from about 1960. Quite a story about reissues. They were not "Living Presence" anymore (whatever that meant). A copy I got made in Holland got wrecked as soon as I played it once - recycled vinyl of some kind. Called Golden Imports or some variation. Now there's an audiophile vinyl reissue which is anything but audiophile. It sounds like it was made from a tape that was made from a vinyl. Dull sound.

A commenter at Amazon.com said his (Dorati's?) widow made it from her tape. So this would be the tape? This may be my favorite classical recording of all (Braz Impr). I have several LPs and I've been disappointed at the unacceptable used quality.
