Bix Beiderbecke - Mississippi Mud / Mississippi Mud
Not sure of the exact date of this issue, but Biltmore only produced records (mainly re-issues) from 1949 to 1951.

Interesting miss-spelling of Jack's name on the A side. Has anyone else seen this on their copy ?

Josephine Bradley And Her Ballroom Orchestra - What's The Good Word, Mr. Bluebird ? / You'll Never Know
And, of course, the added bonus of these records is the strobe pattern around the edge of the label which enables accurate adjustment of the turntable rpm.

Newton Carlisle And His Dance Orch. - At Sundown / Deep River Blues (A Meditation)
According to the National Jazz Archive - The Homochord Story by Brian Rust, "The Dance Band items were issued under quite plausible names, but rarely do they seem to belong or refer to any actual musicians of those names (who, for instance, is Newton Carlisle, whose Deep River Blues on D-1158 is quite outstanding,"

So who is Newton Carlisle ? Any clues ?

I believe that this record label and the D series cat# were issued between 1926 and 1928. Does anyone have any better info ?

As you suggested, I've added my copy as a new entry for India, scanned both sides and linked to this entry. Hope this is OK.

OK. Just to complicate the matter further, my copy has the A side as 01068-A and the B side as 1068 B. Both sides show the artist as Duke Ellington And His Famous Orchestra.
