Uriah Heep - Souvenir Badge, UK Tour 1980
Blown up ~20%.
Uriah Heep toured the UK twice in 1980, firstly between 1 and 24 February and then again between 5 November and 3 December. This badge more likely comes from the latter as that tour had a Stoke date, unlike the earlier one.

Rockpile - "A Pile Of Rock" Badge
Size increased ~20%. (Scanned at 600dpi but still blurs when blown up.)

Boomtown Rats - Badge
Probably 1970s. I get the impression this logo was mainly in use in their early career,

Rick Wakeman - "I Went Out To Lunch With The Rick Wakeman Show" Badge
My superannuated scanner is supposedly scanning at 300dpi anyway...

Rick Wakeman - "I Went Out To Lunch With The Rick Wakeman Show" Badge
Small lapel badge, blown up 20% to meet site minima.

No idea of date I'm afraid.

The Stranglers - "No More Heroes" Badge
Versions of this badge also exist with the design less magnified, hence with smaller writing and more flowers visible round the edges.

Wilko Johnson - Badge
Small lapel badge, scanned larger than actual size to comply with site minima.

May have been from a Dr Feelgood gig, but given the other badges in the collection that I got this with, I suspect it was obtained at Knebworth 1978 where Wilko and his Solid Senders played.

UFO - Souvenir Gig Badge
No clues about the date of this one I'm afraid.

Darts - Badge
Someone who knows more about the band than I might be able to date this one from the line-up depicted?

Climax Blues Band - Badge
This one might not be official -- it looks a little amateurishly done.

[none] - Mike Lloyd Music Rock Club Badge
Mike Lloyd Music was a chain of record stores in Staffordshire and environs. Mr Lloyd was also involved in promotion and possibly management. He wound up on the board of Walsall FC and later Port Vale.

The Stranglers - Badge
There are also badges with this same design but with "Rattus Norvegicus" text on the branch that the rat's running along.

The Beatles - Badge, "Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band"
Entered under the Beatles with some hesitation; it looks about the right vintage to be related to the dreadful 1978 film with the Bee Gees and Peter Frampton.

Motörhead - Souvenir Badge, Heavy Metal Holocaust Festival
Ozzy was a late substitute on the line-up for Black Sabbath -- the change came after the tickets were printed but not, it seems, the badges. Web page with info, reminiscensces, setlists and photos of the festival here.

Rick Wakeman - Souvenir Badge, "No Earthly Connection" Album/Tour
Presumably relates to that album, anyway, as it shares cover art with it (you can just see some of the title under Rick's name at the bottom).

Judas Priest - Badge
Unsure of date. Doesn't appear to tie in to any obvious one album or tour.

Frank Zappa - Souvenir Badge, Knebworth Festival
Second badge from same event as this one, but nowhere near as nice...

[none] - The Old Grey Whistle Test Badge
The show ran from 1970 to 1988. Did it have the "Starkicker" credit sequence all through? If not, it might help pin down a date.

There appear to be various versions of this badge around, some in colour, some b/w, some facing left, others right, etc.

As the show didn't relate to one particular artiste I've just entered it as "none".

Status Quo - "Quo" Badge
Unsure of date for this one. Probably not related to the 1974 album "Quo", but I may be wrong.

Frank Zappa - Souvenir Badge, Knebworth Festival
Here's a question straight off the bat from this initial entry from me; how do we input items such as this where more than one musician/band is featured? Is what I've done appropriate?

George Formby - With My Little Stick Of Blackpool Rock / Oh, Dear Mother
One of many Formby records allegedly banned by the BBC for smuttiness (see here for instance). Seems so very innocent now...

Tommy Steele And Tommy Steele - What Do You Do / I Put's The Lightie On
I think it's actually a reference to the fact that Tommy sings two vocal parts on that side due to the wonders of multi-tracking.

Humphrey Lyttelton - 1956 Super Rhythm Style Series
There was an export issue 45rpm, but I don't know if there was a 78rpm equivalent.

Not mentioned here yet is that this was the first hit record produced by Joe Meek.

Humphrey Lyttelton - Melancholy Blues / The Thin Red Line
http://www.jazzdisco.org/humphrey-lyttelton/discography/ suggests there were five 78s on Humph's London Jazz label by Humph himself with his band.

Bobby Howes And Sepha Treble - Mind How You Go Across The Road / The Music Master (Song Of The Cello)
Two songs from Please Teacher, a British light comedy film. The 78 version of the A side is considerably longer than that sung in the movie:

Massed Bands Of The Aldershot Command - Aldershot Command Searchlight Tattoo, 1934
And another tune you didn't know you knew; it's "'Ere we go, 'ere we go, 'ere we go". LT=1947-48 pressing, once more.

Massed Bands Of The Aldershot Command - Aldershot Command Searchlight Tattoo 1932
Added label variants with curtailed rim text and A side layout differences. The LT tax code makes these a 1947-48 pressing; how long records stayed on catalogue in those days! The B side is actually a medley of "Marching Through Georgia" and "Swanee River", though the latter is uncredited on labels.

Edythe Baker - Sweet And Lovely / Just One More Chance
Edythe Baker 1899-1971. Not much boogieing or woogieing on this pair.
