LaurenceD SUBS ● 9th Oct 2024 | | CD AlbumJefferson Airplane - Surrealistic Pillow | Note that track 17 also contains a ~10-second gap, followed by a 'hidden' track: an instrumental version of "D.C.B.A. -25".
LaurenceD SUBS ● 7th Oct 2024 | | CD AlbumVarious Artists - The Radio Creative Fund Mercury Awards 1992 | For this item, I have entered the data as follows (except for track 1):

- track = Advert (client)
- composer = writer(s)
LaurenceD SUBS ● 1st Oct 2024 | | CD AlbumTelevision - Marquee Moon | Note to owners of this release: the original entry (with images) posted by Alenko was a BMG Direct Marketing release with no barcode; then a barcode was added by another user. I have removed the barcode from this one and spun off a separate release with the barcode here.

LaurenceD SUBS ● 10th Sep 2024 | | Vinyl AlbumConching Rosal - Conching Rosal Sings Kundiman | The liner notes mention a TV appearance (DZAQ-TV) in late 1957. This LP is probably from 1958 or shortly thereafter.

LaurenceD SUBS ● 23rd Aug 2024 | | Vinyl AlbumVarious Artists - The Sound Of Fame | Looks like the first pressings had matrix numbers { M8OP-7349 / M8OP-7350 }.
Mine has { SR4M-5350 / SR4M-5351 } which would suggest a 1965 pressing.
LaurenceD SUBS ● 23rd Aug 2024 | | Vinyl AlbumJohnny Gunn, Don Ralke - Introspection IV | Sorry for the missing cover; I found this record, which appears to be a test pressing, in a plain sleeve, and bought it out of curiosity. The previous owner had written 'odd ball' on it, and that is a pretty accurate description; this is one strange listening experience - a bit like a series of miniature stories from the Twilight Zone.
I'm keeping an eye out for a proper copy of this LP...

LaurenceD SUBS ● 23rd Aug 2024 | | Classical ItemCantilena, Adrian Shepherd - Carl Friedrich Abel: Six Symphonies Opus 7 | The Symphony no. 6 in E flat was originally attributed to Mozart as his symphony no. 3 (K. 18) and listed as such in Breitkopf & Härtel's first edition of Mozart's works. It was later determined that the manuscript in Mozart's collection was in fact copied from Abel's score, with some changes to the instrumentation.

LaurenceD SUBS ● 17th Aug 2024 | | Vinyl AlbumRavi Shankar - Sitar Recital | Odeon stickers covering the HMV logo on the cover & labels. The sticker on the side two label of my copy detached itself as I was scanning it.
LaurenceD SUBS ● 17th Aug 2024 | | Vinyl AlbumAniqa Bano - Basic Potohari | Probably released ca. 1978, but cannot confirm.
LaurenceD SUBS ● 15th Aug 2024 | | Vinyl AlbumBig Jim Sullivan - Sullivan Plays O'Sullivan | I see that both front and back cover photos are reversed (Jim played right-handed).
LaurenceD SUBS ● 12th Aug 2024 | | Vinyl AlbumSpinners - Pick Of The Litter | Alternate B3 track title on label (3643895): They Just Can't Stop It the (Games People Play)
LaurenceD SUBS ● 12th Aug 2024 | | Vinyl AlbumJudy Garland - Judy | Added label scans { 3643872, 3643874 } from a later pressing. Note that track B1 has been re-titled "Maybe I'll Come Back" and credited to composers Charles L. Cook & Howard C. Jeffrey.
LaurenceD SUBS ● 2nd Aug 2024 | | Vinyl AlbumSheb Wooley - Tales Of How The West Was Won | Added alternate label scans. Note the difference in track order for A4 & B1 between labels { 784611, 784612 } versus mine { 3636304, 3636305 }. Playing my copy, the track order matches my labels (and the cover back), so I have rearranged the track listing accordingly.
LaurenceD SUBS ● 2nd Aug 2024 | | Vinyl AlbumBuddy Starcher - History Repeats Itself | These were all newly recorded tracks ca. May 1966, including "History Repeats Itself".
There was also a Starday LP with the same title (SLP 382) released about the same time as this one. That other LP consists mainly of recycled tracks from 1959-62, except for "History Repeats Itself" which is performed by Minnie Pearl, recorded in 1964.

LaurenceD SUBS ● 19th Jul 2024 | | Vinyl AlbumBo Grumpus - Before The War | From what I can determine, it looks like mono pressings were issued for promotional purposes only.
LaurenceD SUBS ● 17th Jul 2024 | | Vinyl AlbumSteve Bailey, Ira Cook, Vin Scully - Dodgers '59 | This LP describes highlights of the Dodgers' 1959 regular season, including the best-of-three tiebreaker series against the Milwaukee Braves. I guess that they had a deadline to get the record into stores, because they didn't wait to document the World Series results.
A summary of the highlights (all from the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum):
Side 1:
- Roy Campanella Night, May 7: an exhibition game vs. the Yankees, who made a special trip to L.A. for the event.
- Giants visiting on June 30: a fly ball from Willie Mays bounced off a foul ball girder, triggering a series of arguments between managers, coaches & umpires.
Side 2:
- Giants visiting on August 31: Koufax strikes out 18
- Pirates visiting on September 11: Scully is calling the home game as well as providing updates from the Phillies-Giants game at Seals Stadium. Fans in the stands are listening to the broadcast on their transistor radios. When he announces that the Phillies have won, the crowd erupts into cheers. Players on the field are looking around wondering what just happened.
- Milwaukee visiting on September 29: Dodgers win 2nd playoff game, clinching the pennant.

LaurenceD SUBS ● 9th Jul 2024 | | Vinyl AlbumDick Dale And His Del-Tones - Surfer's Choice | This entry is for the Duophonic issue (DT-1886). The images submitted by Jacques RAILLARD are from a mono pressing (T-1886), so they have been moved over here.
LaurenceD SUBS ● 7th Jul 2024 | | Vinyl AlbumThe San Francisco 49ers - Sing Holiday Halftime | Manlius issued an LP for each of the 26 NFL teams (Quality issued some or all of these albums for Canada). Each team's LP uses the same artwork and liner notes; however the song selections vary slightly for each LP. Jacques Urbont conducted the backing tracks in Yugoslavia; those tracks were then taken to the various NFL training camps to record the vocals.

LaurenceD SUBS ● 3rd Jul 2024 | | Classical ItemHenryk Szeryng, LSO, Alexander Gibson - Paganini: Violin Concertos Nos. 1 & 4 | I have designated this as a UK issue; seems to contain the same disc as the German one, but the cover has text in English instead of German.
LaurenceD SUBS ● 1st Jul 2024 | | Vinyl AlbumW.C. Fields - Temperance Lecture | This appears to be a second pressing on this label; other version with same # does not state "Rerecording". Released in 1950 or 1954, not sure.
LaurenceD SUBS ● 1st Jul 2024 | | Vinyl AlbumRaun MacKinnon - Raun Is Her Name! | Mono promo disc in a stereo cover with sticker.
For this release, I think that mono pressings were only issued for promotional purposes.
