MoreFloyd 8th Aug 2024		CD Album Yngwie J. Malmsteen's Rising Force - Marching Out	Added booklet images for this release. The correct date for this one should be 1985 as this is the earliest date that this Cat. No., Barcode and Label combination was issued. Martin C. Strong's - The Great Metal Discography and "Music Master" catalogue give the date as Aug '85. Discogs gives a date of 1985 for the PolyGram Hannover CD pressings. If there are no objections I will ask to have the release date changed to 1985.

No. All Sony distributed releases have the entered Cat. No. and Barcode above. First Australian "Sony" distributed release was on the "Columbia" label (Jun. 1991). My copy would be from approx. early 1993 to mid 1995, although strangely the booklet is from the original CBS distributed release (Cat. No. 466920 2), image #3637916. CD Image #3637917 Matrix / Runout: SONY MUSIC AUSTRALIA 466920.9 (DB) #06 No SID code numbers.

MoreFloyd 15th Jun 2024		Vinyl Album Roxette - Look Sharp!	I believe this album was actually released in Australia in 1989. Originally recorded in Stockholm and London between March and September 1988, and released by EMI on the 21/10/1988 in Sweden (and possibly the UK & Europe). It is listed as a new release in the Australian Platterlog publication dated 5/6/1989 on LP, Tape & Compact Disc and entered the Australian charts on the 2nd of July, 1989. If there are no objections I will ask to have the release date changed to 1989.

MoreFloyd 27th Dec 2023		CD Album Judas Priest - Painkiller	Hi PhilMH, Always appreciate your input. I think Magic was right on pulling me up on this one. My disc is definitely the original Australian release through CBS Records in Sept, 1990 (now owned by Sony). Whassup's entry is on Sony's newly reintroduced "Columbia" label (except Japan and Spain). So I think this being the case the policy here at 45worlds would be a new entry for a different label and Whassup's entry should show the Label as being Columbia. Mind you I could be having a seniors moment and be totally confused...:)

Was thrown by the CBS label listing for this one plus booklet and inlay details being the same with CBS logos. Will add a new entry after the Christmas break. Is "Whassup's" CD entry actually on the CBS label or Columbia? I believe Sony started to use the Columbia label from 1991.

MoreFloyd 25th Dec 2023		CD Album Judas Priest - Painkiller	Added image of original CBS labelled CD from 1990. Have requested the date for this one to be changed to 18 Sep, 1990 as listed in "Whassup's" notes. With the exception of the CD label everything else (Booklet, Inlay, CD Matrix info etc...) is identical. I suspect that the "Columbia" labelled CD might actually be closer to a 1992 release. Some information on the Australian "CBS" and "Columbia" labels can be found at the Pink Floyd Archives website.
MoreFloyd 27th Oct 2023		Cassette Album Richard Marx - Repeat Offender	This cassette is a bit of a Frankenstein as far as labels go. EMI America on the front cover (apparently ceased in 1987 when merged with Manhattan Records). EMI-USA listed on inside of inlay (existing until the early 1990's). Manhattan Records logo on cassette shell. (absorbed into Capitol Records and EMI-USA, Sep 1988). Most of the singles released off this album and appearing on 45cat are under the EMI USA banner so hopefully I have got the correct label for this release.
MoreFloyd 15th Oct 2023		CD Album Cro-Mags - Best Wishes	This CD does not give any composer credits although the LP did have credits on the labels and an inner sleeve with lyrics. The text printed on this CD is quite thick and not well defined. A look through the images on "discogs" suggests that this may have originally been released in a "Long Box".

Michael De Looper from the Australia Record Labels website gives a date of September, 1979 with Martin C. Strongs "The Great Rock Discography" giving a November 1979 date for all the EMI reissues. Discogs gives dates as follows for the Australian EMI reissues: CUN2-2900 Exile On Main Street - 1979 CUN2-9001 Love You Live - 1977 (This seems unlikely as I don't think EMI releases appeared until early 1978) CUN-59100 Sticky Fingers - March 14, 1980 CUN-59101 Goat's Head Soup - 1979 CUN-79101 It's Only Rock 'n Roll - August1979 CUN-79102 Made In The Shade - 1979 CUN-79104 Black And Blue - No date given If there are no objections (or more clarity on the 1978 date) I will ask to have the date amended to 1979.

MoreFloyd 27th Mar 2023		Cassette Album Celtic Frost - Into The Pandemonium	I recently purchased an early pressing of this on CD as it is a bit of a favourite of mine and I no longer own a tape deck. On first listen I was surprised to realise that I have never heard the track "Tristesses De La Lune". That is because the cassette I entered above doesn't actually contain that track (although clearly labelled as such). Track 04 is in fact "Sorrows Of The Moon". The CD contains both tracks.

As far as I can see the only difference between your album and the original Australian pressing is the original had a flipback cover (according to Discogs), same cat#, labels etc... Michael De Looper's (EMI Australia Ltd. EP's & LP's Labels A-E catalogue) gives a date of 1969. If that is correct the release date for this entry would be 1969 as that is the earliest date that this Label, cat# combination was used for.
