CD Single
Del Amitri - Kiss This Thing Goodbye
This is the 1990 reissue and not the 1989 original - same tracks but different number. The original 1989 release was AMY 515

Owen Bradley - The Big Guitar
The year is wrong - it's 1959 - the tracks were recorded in January 59

Earl Bostic And His Orchestra - Earl Bostic
I thought the UK version was LDE 100 - this album is from New Zealand

Hank Thompson And His Brazos Valley Boys - Honky-Tonk Girl / Wake Up, Irene
This was released October 54 (according to the monthly 'new records' booklet from the time)

Barbra Streisand - People
Hmm - sorry Sidney didn't see that bit - I just saw a Reprise album with the same thing - stereo sticker on back of the mono sleeve. I actually have the true stereo cover (they must have eventually got sick of putting the stickers on!) but I haven't got the equipment to upload it

Bobby Rydell - Kissin' Time / You'll Never Tame Me
The record implies that it's half composed by Robert SCHUMANN, the German composer -
when it should be Mort SHUMAN

The sleeve shown for this is the mono version -
the stereo one has STEREO in top right corner of the front with an arrow each side

Bobby Rydell - Kissin' Time / You'll Never Tame Me
B side composer credits should be - Pomus, Shuman

Vinyl Album
Warren Barker And His Orchestra - William Holden
It says 1959 on the label cause that's when it was first released - in America.
The Warner Bros. label didn't start in the UK until 1960 -
which is the year that this album was probably released in the UK

Johnny And The Hurricanes - Stormsville
Has anyone any idea when this album was recorded -
they moved to the 'Big top' label shortly after, my guess is - late 59?

CD Album
Duane Eddy - That Classic Twang
Does anyone know why Bob Jones remixed the stereo tracks on this and the box set.
Is there something wrong with some of the original 50s releases?
I don't want to buy remixes - I want the originals

Sonny Terry Trio - Hootin' Blues / Bop! Goes The Weasel
Surely the Sonny Terry side is the same as the U.S. Gramercy label release (1060) released in 1952 also

Various Artists - Golden Goodies, Volume 1
Does anyone have any knowledge about the 2 UK Columbia albums - Golden goodies volume 1 (33SX 1664) and volume 2 (33SX 1672)? Were they the same as volume 1 and 2 of the American series or were they different?

Review
This gig was cancelled - it was supposed to be Electric Light Orchestra/Colin Blunstone/Fishbaugh, Fishbaugh and Zorn. I had a ticket but it was cancelled on the day.
Their next Newcastle gig was cancelled also - May 16 1976 at the Theatre Royal

Eddy Arnold - Just A Little Lovin' (Will Go A Long, Long Way) / My Daddy Is Only A Picture
Great to see these Eddy Arnold export 78s listed - I never knew there were so many. This 78 wasn't the first one. I've got an old Regal Zonophone export list from the late 40s. There are some great U.S. Columbia and RCA releases - Gene Autry, Jimmie Rodgers, Carter Family, Montana Slim, Carson Robison, Riley Puckett, Texas Jim Robertson, Roy Rogers, The Bar X Cowboys, Bill Boyd, Bob Atcher, Bob Wills and Floyd Tillman. The Eddy Arnold release is -
Chained to a memory/To my sorrow - Eddy Arnold and his Plowboys (Regal Zonophone ME65) October 1948

Jo Stafford And Frankie Laine - Pretty Eyed Baby / That's The One For Me
The D.B. series is just a normal UK 78 - the export 78s are DC or MC

The Everly Brothers - Cathy's Clown / Always It's You
There were three Warner Bros UK 78s - 1 (Cathy's clown) 10 (Sammy Masters - Rockin' Red Wing) and 19 (Lucille)

Ken Griffin - When Your Hair Has Turned To Silver / Louise
I think this is later than 1949 - the recording is from about 1951 - and the release would be 1953 - DC 608 is March 53 and DC 670 is November 54. (Fixed, Mod.)
