Northern Exile 22nd Nov 2021		CD Album Various Artists - Ultimate Girl Groups	Somewhat unbelievably I have managed to get a second copy of this CD in mint condition. If a UK collector is interested, please get in touch - I'd like it to stay in this country if possible.
Northern Exile 10th Dec 2019		CD Album Various Artists - Northern Soul's Classiest Rarities 2	I thought this was the weakest of the six "classiest rarities" albums to date, standout tracks for me are Jimmy Bo Horne and The Athens Rogues.
Northern Exile 10th Dec 2019		CD Album Various Artists - The Magic Of Detroit Volume 1	This was the last CD that Goldmine withdrew in a hurry, reason unknown. In the sleeve notes Tim Brown states that this is the first in a series of three, but they changed their minds pretty quickly as nothing further ensued! A fair number of these tracks turned up on “Dancin’ in D-Town” (GSCD131) so it could have been a licensing issue. The CD is very hard to find as a consequence.

Northern Exile 16th Nov 2017		CD Album Various Artists - The Essential Northern Soul Story	Great review Roger, you know your stuff! I too had heard that one of their biggest sellers was a funk CD. I'd love to know which one, as although I have them all I can't say I have enjoyed a single track!
Northern Exile 16th Nov 2017		CD Album Various Artists - Ultimate Girl Groups	Supposedly one of the rarest Goldmine CDs, you never see it up for sale nowadays. It was also produced on vinyl LP and these are easier to find than the CD. Expect to pay well over £100 quid for a good copy of this.
Northern Exile 16th Nov 2017		CD Album Various Artists - Wigan Forever	Roger, I can explain why the CD is called "Northern Soul Survivors" while the cover has the title "Wigan Forever". Basically, Russ Winstanley had just released his first Soul Survivors CD set and objected to Goldmine using the title. Of course, they'd already produced the CDs and Kev Roberts being what he is, there was no chance they were going to just throw them away. The solution was to produce new sleeve and insert with the "Wigan Forever" title but still package the old CDs until they were used up. The later CDs did have "Wigan Forever" on them. The original CD case is extremely rare, I only know of two and I have one of them, still in cellophane.
