That's My Desire was recorded live at the Symphony Hall, Boston on 30 November 1947. The full length song is on the double LP "Satchmo at Symphony Hall", released in January 1951.

The vocal on Sloppy Joe is by Sonny Greer.

Both sides arranged by Billy Strayhorn, and the orchestra is Johnny Hodges (as), Duke Ellington (p), Ray Nance (tp), Lawrence Brown (tb), Harry Carney (bs), Jimmy Blanton (b) and Sonny Greer (d).

Both sides recorded in Hollywood on 3 July 1941. It was one of Jimmy Blanton's last sessions - he died of tuberculosis the following year, aged 23.
