@Neil Forbes. Personally I'm all in favour of the Licence fee. It's great to have ad free television. But out of the increased BBC output the only channels I now watch are BBC4 and BBC 2 and BBC 1 sporadically. I think they waste too much on CBeebies CBBC and the general dumbing down of BBC 1 with reality TV to a point where it may as well be handed over to the independent sector. The jewel in the crown though is BBC 4. It's like Auntie Beeb has gathered together all the ideas and people from the 60's and the 70's with the brief to keep alive the spirit of the BBC. I never watch commercial television at all, always record and fast forward through the ads and if the show is worth having I will buy it on disc. What's that line from The Wall, "I've got thirteen channels of s**t on my TV to choose from" It's more like 1300 now :-)

Crown Court (1972 - 1984)
As bad as it was I think it's a lot more entertaining than watching has-beens in the jungle eating bugs, dancing, baking, cooking, antique hunting or any of a hundred different ways to humiliate people, now that's really really bad. I despair at the TV today which is why I own so many Discs. If I had the choice I would definitely go back to a time when TV was more entertaining and educational, especially educational. We're all drowning in a sea of absolute Dross. Personally I blame it all on Margaret Thatcher ;-)

The Champions (1968 - 1969)
@Neil Forbes. I would agree with 23skidoo. My DVD drives do the same thing here ie, allow 5 changes before locking. I solved the problem though by mounting a second drive and locking one to R1 and another to R2. I later added a Blu-Ray drive and really didn't want to buy another one so I bought a piece of software from SlySoft called AnyDVD HD. This gives a software solution to playing R1 & R2 in any drive and doesn't mess with the locking problem. As for the Blu-Ray under the TV I know that you can't make the Blu-Ray multi Region but you can "Adjust" the DVD end to Multi-Region. In my case I have a Panasonic Blu-Ray with Freeview HD recorder. I was able to buy a remote control unit off ebay which was pretty much a point and shoot affair that unlocked the DVD to be able to play discs from any region.

@23skidoo. I didn't know you were using the drive in your computer as a DVD player, If that's the case you could buy a second drive and have one permanently on R1 and the other on R2, they are so cheap to buy these days, on ebay they're around £12. If you have a player under your TV you look for a site like here and follow instructions. Easy

Every player I've ever owned I have been able to find a code to make it multi-region. Is it not the same at your end ??

Rick Wakeman - The Six Wives Of Henry VIII
Added remaining scans to this although I think my disc is more likely to be from 1987 but I can't be sure. According to the discogs website the runout matrix on the 1990's disc has the matrix 393 229-2 03 or 05 and maufactured in W Germany by PDO. Mine has 393 229-2 02* and in a silver band there are the letters AC, no "made in" reference at all and it has a full silver centre as in the first issues of the disc, unlike later copies which had a clear centre. There is also no Labelcode @ the 6 o'clock position or on the inserts and there is a catalogue number printed on the inside of the CD Tray Insert. If anybody knows anything I would appreciate the input

Max Headroom (1987 - 1988)
Is this the same show that was broadcast in the UK ??. My memory is a bit muddled by this one, I seem to remember a show where Max talked about various things and introduced music video clips and talked to other "celebs". If this series was available I would love to have it.

Ahh But I am a live in carer and not in my own house so I have nowhere to set up my gear. Which is rather a shame, I'm really missing my 5.1 surround sound system the most. Plus these were £14.99 each or 2 for £20, really couldn't pass on the offer

Sherlock Holmes In Color - Legend Films
Apart from Benedict Cumberbatch, Basil Rathbone is the one and _only_ Sherlock Holmes. This set of discs is worth having, four great movies all colourised. The colourisation is excellent and adds a new dimension to these films. The set has the black and white versions as well.
