I didn't know J Madison Wright had passed away. She had cardiomyopathy and had been given a heart transplant at the age of 15. She died just before her 22nd birthday from a heart attack. Only just got married too, that's so sad.

Ian Dury - New Boots And Panties!!
I have this same album. Mine is identical in cover, apart from the the front sticker (which only mentions 1 extra track). All the bonus tracks are the same and it has the same spelling error on the back cover for the "Clevor Trever" track. The disc inside is orange and marked CNR Music (at that time they were part of the distributors "Arcade group" ). No mention of the Hit Label on the CD at all, just CNR. Same bar code and cat no. on the cover, but different number on the CD. I'll upload the images as variations when I get a chance.

Bird Of Prey 2 (1984)
Bird of Prey was a 4-episode mini-series. This is the sequel. Bird of Prey was only ever intended to be a one off story. The sequel had to be freshly written due to favourable viewing figures and BBC pressure to bring back Henry Jay, hence the two year gap between shows. IMO it should be a separate entry; it's a sequel in the same way that A Very Polish Practice is a sequel to A Very Peculiar Practice.

Basically, Bird of Prey was about pen pusher Henry Jay uncovering a Europe-wide conspiracy on his incredibly huge 64k computer, which took up half the room and was described by the salesman as "portable" (but had to be delivered as it wouldn't fit in Henry's car).

Bird Of Prey 2 was the story of Henry running for his life from the crooks revenge. It contained a plot twist at the end (spoilers!) which didn't sit well with me as it seemed totally ludicrous that his wife would be involved in that way.

The Comedians (1971 - 1992)
Review
Stand up comedy routines edited together to produce a show designed for a 30-minute TV slot (incl. adverts). Each show went straight into the routines (there was no presenter).
The series ran from 1971 to 1974, was revived in 1979 to 1980 for two series, and for another two series in 1984 to 1985. A final one series revival was attempted in 1992.

Comedians featured:

Russ Abbot, Lennie Bennett, Stan Boardman, Jim Bowen, Jimmy Bright, Duggie Brown, Mike Burton, Dave Butler, Brian Carroll, Frank Carson, Mike Coyne, Jimmy Cricket, Colin Crompton,
Pauline Daniels, Charlie Daze, Vince Earl, Steve Faye, Eddie Flanagan, Stu Francis, Ken Goodwin, Jackie Hamilton, Jerry Harris, George King, Bobby Knutt, Bernard Manning, Mike McCabe, Paul Melba, Mick Miller, Hal Nolan, Tom O'Connor, Tom Pepper, Bryn Phillips, Mike Reid, George Roper, Harry Scott, Sammy Thomas, Johnny Wager, Roy Walker, Charlie Williams, Lee Wilson, Lenny Windsor

You're probably right about it being only local, Zabadak. Back then ITV had a lot more regional broadcasts than they do today. Saturday mornings would be turned over to the local stations to do their own children's shows. The "moan rocket" would deliver letters to the show. I remember being surprised when the village up the road got a mention one day. They did a live show from the Royal Bath & West Show one year. Chester was in a hand cart sealed in a protective bubble (probably to stop the kids from breaking him). Chester was LOUD! I was stood next to the cart and nearly got deafened when he started laughing.

HTV liked their puppets, I remember Annie St. John doing continuity and reading out kids letters with "Oscar", the world's most unconvincing owl puppet (it was on a stick in her hand). I was gutted when I heard she'd died. Then Alan Taylor went 7 years later and it was like my childhood died with him. As I put on the picture's mouseover note, best childrens presenter EVER!

The Ghosts Of Motley Hall (1976 - 1978)
Yes, it's on DVD. There were also some paperback books of the series too.

Carryonsidney, the boy you're thinking of is the ghost of Matt the footman. Unlike the other ghosts he could leave the hall and venture into the grounds. The actor who played him was killed in a road accident 3 years after this series.

It's worth tracking down Neil. Superb series that puts a lot of today's shows to shame, both kids shows and adults.

Disney's "Tangled" and "Little Mermaid" were inspired by anime too, it doesn't make them into one. "The Matrix" was based on "Ghost In the Shell", but no one would consider The Matrix to be anime either. The "inspired by" info should go in the notes but its not the genre of the movie.

That might be their official "excuse" harley, but I suspect it had a lot more to do with trying to get people to buy colour TVs. When they first came out they didn't sell that well due to their high price and lack of colour programmes. Most of the country couldn't get the all colour channel BBC2 for about 5 years after its launch. The BBC brought back several popular shows for just one or two series to get people to buy a new set. I suspect this was revived for that reason more than worn out tapes, and it wouldn't surprise me if they still showed the b/w episodes even after the colour series debuted.

Space Night (1994 - Now)
I wasn't sure if this should still be classed as a programme or if it's now a programme block.
However, BR TV call it a programme and it's their show so who am I to argue. It certainly started as a programme (see the video from the 90s I think?), but it's grown a bit over the years. The video is a clip by the way, the actual programme broadcasts through the night.

Often incorrectly considered a prequel to "Oh Brother!", due to Derek Nimmo playing a similar style of charcter, All Gas and Gaiters actually outlasted Oh Brother! by one year.

Well,as general consensus is all of us remembering it from the 60s, I'll ignore Wiki and imdb and edit the entry accordingly.
