BUT we had The Piccadilly pub from opening in late 60's (I believe) to name change about '80 to '82. Still a pub now after several names, latest after a refit in '07, re-opened by Melissa Messenger as 'The Messenger' (get it), 5 Covingham Drive, SN3 5AA. With (a) little more evidence than that I would guess the 'club' was there as perhaps a weekly or monthly event.

rocket666 16th Aug 2022		Live Music Show Of Hands @ Oakengates Theatre	10 years and 6 albums together - first 3 cassette only - and the intrepid duo get a full page combined tour and CD ad. in Folk ROOTS (Oct '95 pg 12!). 40 dates in the ad, but only 17 added here, this being 6th in line. The rest missing due to (usual) small little known venues; churches, pubs, sports and village halls; even one T.B.A. and one T.B.C., also three dates (2 towns) show only a phone number and no venue! Additionally the ad makes 3 notable spelling errors; SOLLIHULL, KINGS WINSFORD (one word), and Southmore, Oxon.
rocket666 15th Aug 2022		Live Music Fairport Acoustic Convention @ The Empire	41 date tour promoted in two consecutive issue of Folk ROOTS. May '96 has full page full tour official band ad, and June a vertical half page similar official ad. (along side an official '96 Cropredy ad). Both of these name Fairport Acoustic Convention and a 4 piece line-up (no drummer!). May mag has smaller venue ads; Southampton and Chesham going with Fairport 'Acoustic' Convention, and Nettlebed keeping just Fairport Convention. June mag adds Sheffield with Fairport Convention - Acoustic Tour.!! I think after this, and maybe more confusion, the band returned to just the two word name and called these (usually) spring outings Acoustic Tour... I will check that soon. 41 dates, only 33 added here as rest are festivals and small town venues not on site!
