rocket666 10th Nov 2021		Live Music Fairport Convention @ Queen's Hall	One site puts this show at unknown venue, Leeds - another at Queen's Hall, Hexham (a venue not recorded here yet). I have gone for a third option, which fits geographically well between Kendal (28th) and Birmingham (30th). Here are two more, slim, possibles though; Hexham came first on the 27th and then Leeds tonight at, indeed another, unknown venue.

rocket666 8th Oct 2021		Live Music The Skatalites [UK] @ Portsmouth Pier	Born ten miles from Portsmouth in 1954, and worked there from 1970 to '75 I assure one and all there was never a venue called Portsmouth Pier. These two shows were most likely at Clarence Pier, Southsea. (Not actually a pier into the sea, just a bulge on the shoreline). Clarence, and South Parade Pier - also Southsea - are the only ones on Portsea Island as Portsmouth does not have seaside coastline (only Southsea); and Old Portsmouth on the western tip of the island, including HM Dockyard, is the very limited area of Portsmouth facing the sea; and only The Solent at that. The remaining shoreline parts of Portsea Island; Rowner, Tipner, Eastney, Hilsea are on coastal inlets and tidal mudbanks. So no way attracting leisure activities - until land reclaimaction and a new motorway in the 1990's.

rocket666 4th Oct 2021		Vinyl Album Elton John - Tumbleweed Connection	I think the October 30th date could be correct; and delays may refer to the US issue (4th January 1971). The 'delay' in charting to 16th January publication date (surveys a week or more earlier) possibly due to competing with the 'Elton John' album which - according to The Official Charts Company - only charted for 2 weeks on release in May 1970 (nos 48, then 60). It then returned to the chart from first week of Feb 70 to July 70, only reaching it's no5 peak the first week of March; then just managed 5 weeks in the top ten. 'Tumbleweed ....' begins its 20 week chart run at no41 before zooming into the top ten at no9 both album now competing with - and encouraged by the 'Your Song' single. This album gets a better 11 weeks in the top ten (peak no2 for 3 weeks), it drops from the chart in late June however. That is two or three weeks before 'Elton John' drops off!! The earlier album being the one with the hit single..
