I like this album a lot, I don't think it was aimed directly at kids in fact there is a quote from Nilsson that states "I was on acid and I looked at the trees and I realized that they all came to points, and the little branches came to points, and the houses came to point. I thought, "Oh! Everything has a point, and if it doesn't, then there's a point to it.". Show where a bit of acid can direct you :grin:

They refer to themselves on their web page as Nightingales even though the web address is http://thenightingales.org.uk/ !!

sladesounds 10th Feb 2016		CD Album Einstürzende Neubauten - Lament	The album is a studio reconstruction of a performance piece commissioned by the Belgian town of Diksmuide to commemorate the outbreak of World War I. Track 1 features lyrics that are not sung, but intended to be read. Track 3 is a duet between Alexander Hacke, playing Russian Tsar Nicholas II, and Blixa Bargeld, as Kaiser Wilhelm of Germany, discussing the diplomatic manoeuvring that lead to war via telegram exchange. The two royals, first cousins by marriage, referred to one another as "Willy" and "Nicky". The album also includes two songs written by James Reese Europe, musical director of the United States' 369th Infantry Regiment, also known as the Harlem Hellfighters. [YouTube Video]

sladesounds 31st Jan 2016		CD Album Spirit - Clear	No Lee I agree, was being a little facetious, shoulda put a smiley after my opening line :) I too would say that the album is "Clear" as plainly shown on the LP label scan I linked too. Just surprised at how sites etc. list it as "Clear Spirit".

Given on Vinyl Album we would go with what is on the label "Clear" seems to be the way forward. What does it say on the CD disc label?

sladesounds 27th Jan 2016		Vinyl Album Miles Davis - Kind Of Blue	I have just listened to my copy and it does sound better than the CD version I already had. It certainly is good enough for me (especially at £4.99). Just in case you haven't read the small print there is 40 albums in the series being issued at a rate of 2 a month. Seems a great idea but I would love to know what the 40 albums are actually going to be. What we need now is a similar approach with something like the Vertigo label - that would be cool :) or maybe a World Music on 33 series.
