Perry Como - Wanted / Look Out The Window (And See How I'm Standing In The Rain)
This would appear to be the earliest 78 (and 45) release with the four-color Nipper design; its inaugural rollout was announced in the Dec. 26, 1953 issue of Billboard.

Eddie Fisher - A Girl, A Girl (Zoom-Ba Di Alli Nella) / Anema E Core (With All My Heart And Soul)
This was one of the earliest RCA Victor 78's (and 45's) with a new label design that was announced in the Dec. 26, 1953 issue of Billboard:

RCA Redesigns Disk Label

NEW YORK, Dec. 19. -- RCA Victor has re-designed its disk label and will introduce the new label next month on a few new albums. As the diskery's present stock of printed label forms runs out, the entire line of disks on all speeds will carry the new design.

Basic change is the use of a four-color plate of the trademarked dog, which will be much larger than the one now used on disk labels. In effect, the newly-designed label will appear to be much more like the one used on HMV disks. All Victor disk products will eventually carry the new design.

Original Cast Of Star Wars With Naration By Roscoe Lee Browne - The Story Of Star Wars
This would have been an early 1980's reissue; the original, of course, was 20th Century (-Fox) T-550 (which I once had on cassette as 1T1 6747). I still remember James Earl Jones' voice seemingly enunciating "rebel spies" as "rubble shpies."

Hungarian Folk Dance Orchestra - Tapei Darudobogo / 1. Faridazo, 2. Paloc Csardas
Had this been issued on 45 (as MH-45-2079), the matrices would have been N8-OW-8706 and PK-4M-6486, respectively. Meaning here, on the latter:
- N = 10" - 78 RPM
- C = Mono - Standard

Let me guess: the newly added {Images #3593961 & 3593962} is a Santa Maria pressing?

I still think Columbia Pitman's {Images #1354719 & 1354721} was better laid out than Santa Maria's {Images #3594185 & 3594186}.

The Establishment (The Original London Company) - Peter Cook Presents The Establishment
I have to wonder if Haber Typographers in New York typeset the album cover, especially the back with Akzidenz-Grotesk with Bold. They sure did for Columbia in this period.

Also, wasn't this one of the last "Bill Grauer Productions"-issued Riversides before his death and the label going to Orpheum Productions?

Ray McKinley - Howdy Friends (E.T.O. Curtain Call) / Ol' Tag Along
It appears this incarnation of Varsity used label type from the future Queens Litho (then simply known as Kaltman Press) in Long Island City, NY. (The earlier iteration used Keystone typesetting.)

{Images #3588029 & 3588030} is Terre Haute. Thus two of the three variants (that, and my Pitman {Images #458286 & 458287} have been accounted for.

The Swingle Singers, New York Philharmonic, Luciano Berio - Berio: Sinfonia
Those were two different acts - technically it should be The Swingle Singers, New York Philharmonic, Luciano Berio (as he also conducted).

Moreover, this was first on Columbia Masterworks.

The new {Images #3580920 & 3580921} is a Columbia Terre Haute variant; naturally, the Pitman layout {Images #1711354 & 1711356} is much neater and more organized.

I know "Wiki" said 1954, but the 'T' series bowed in 1955 per the Jan. 8, 1955 issue of Billboard. Take that what you will.

Kay Starr - The Kay Starr Style
That would have been for the original 10" release (H-363). It was extended to the 12 tracks (and 12" format) here in 1955, upon the inauguration of the 'T' series. Billboard announced such debut (retailing initially at $3.98) in its Jan. 8, 1955 issue. {Images #1211247 & 1211248} would have dated to 1957, {Images #1888933 & 1888935} to 1958-59. When first released in this form, the label design would have been as on here.
[Mod: changed to 1955]

Canada?! This is a U.S. release, preceding the 12" issue by about two years (the 'T' release came out at the time that series was inaugurated in 1955). Says 'Made in U.S.A.' on the back cover {Image #3369543}, and mentions 'Capitol Records, Inc. • Hollywood, California • U.S.A.' in the rim print of {Images #3369544 & 3369545}. Doesn't look or sound Canadian to me . . . [Mod: changed to US]

Kenny Loggins With Jim Messina - Sittin' In
I should note that I have a Pitman copy with Santa Maria metalwork with labels as on {Images #958462 & 958463}. Two characteristics give this away:
- The center hole drilled onto the labels was 7.2mm (0.2835"), rather than Santa Maria's 7.4mm (0.2913")
- The margin diameter (the most raised area of the outer record diameter) was at 299.5mm (11.7913") rather than Santa Maria's then standard of 298mm (11.7323")
As you can guess by these small details, I have more than one way to pinpoint where a copy was pressed - and why looking at photos and scans is in no way the same as seeing a pressing up close and personal. Pitman, at that point, was still using Queens Litho to print their label blanks (presumably Terre Haute as well); the label blanks Santa Maria used came from Bert-Co. Both were using 70 lb. C2S paper which was made by Newton Falls Paper Mill. (Nashua Corp. made the 70 lb. C1S Litho Dry Gum Label paper stock - most likely 25" x 20" - that was used to print label blanks for styrene 45's that the Pitman and Terre Haute plants turned out.)

Ironic, given that Richmond, IN would later be home to a pressing plant for his future label, Decca.

Which label released this came with an irony, as within a year Steely Dan, Jimmy Buffett and Tom Petty would be on MCA or, in the last-named's case initially, a subsidiary, while Boston would end up on MCA later in the next decade.

Looks like {Images #648375 & 648376} was from Winchester, and {Images #1550934 & 1550935} from Los Angeles. The pressing rings are the key to identification (Winchester's was between 35.0 and 35.5mm, Jacksonville's ~38.3mm, and Los Angeles' ~39.7mm.)

NOTE: Also came in Record Club Of America and Columbia House versions. (Don't know about RCA Music Service, though it could have.)

Rita Pavone - Wenn ich ein Junge wär
45's of these sides had matrix prefices, depending on what year recorded, that read RPKM- or SPKM-. Had these been put out on 78, the prefices would have read RPNC- and SPNC-, respectively.

This meant that, in the third and fourth characters as to these recorded:

A = Master Tape - RCA Victor

1 = Recorded in New York
4 = Recorded in Nashville

Had this album come out in the U.S., it would have been on Epic, issued with a KE prefix somewhere in the 33200 range. Alas, they never did so - not even after Carol Douglas' version of the title track "made it" in the States.

The Toys - The Toys Sing "A Lover's Concerto" And "Attack"
{Images #3564089 & 3564090}, though using Columbia Pitman type of the period, would have to be from 1967, as it's an early copy with a small slight indent of 11.1mm (0.4370") on Side 2, which the RIAA would designate in their 1978 standards for record manufacture as "center of gravity."
