WinyleOnline 19th May 2023 | | CD AlbumDepeche Mode - Memento Mori | ReviewThis is an average album by the band's standards, but certainly better than the previous Spirit. There aren't really any very memorable songs on it, and after listening to it a few times I am able to name 'Ghosts Again', 'Wagging Tongue' and the best one in my opinion 'Before We Drown'.
In terms of sound, I don't deny that at times the simple/minimalist arrangements are elegant and the focus on Gahan's voice creates an intimate and close atmosphere, but the album lacks impact and one expects more from such successful songwriters as they have been.
One can also have reservations about the mastering of the digital and CD releases. In my opinion, the sound is too loud and the dynamics have been drastically reduced. As you can see, we are still living in the age of the loudness war.

WinyleOnline 29th Apr 2022 | | CD AlbumPeter Gabriel - OVO | ReviewMusically the album is similar to Big Blue Ball, as it features additional vocalists, but has a more interesting atmosphere, more ambient. Interesting recordings are certainly "Low Light" and "The Time Of The Turning". However, the biggest misunderstanding is the opening track of the album, "The Story Of OVO". The rap that appears in it is a completely wrong idea and fortunately, the artist rarely experiments with this kind of music.

WinyleOnline 30th Jun 2020 | | CD AlbumRoxette - Joyride | ReviewTheir first album I got on CD at early 90s. Previous albums I had only on tape at this time. Unfortunately it was their last so good release. Later they started to sound different and they stopped being so attractive. My all time favourites are: Joyride and Spending My Time.

WinyleOnline 30th Jun 2020 | | Vinyl AlbumIron Maiden - Live After Death | ReviewMusically, the album is excellent and most people who have listened to it knows about it, so there is nothing new to write. However, it's worth mention a few words about this Polish release from the Tonpress label.
I must admit that there weren't so many beautifully released albums in that period, especially on two LPs. The whole graphic design and gatefold with the book were very good quality. The only downside was the labels, in a typical label red colour, while on the original British releases they contained an image. But at least it was possible to quickly distinguish this Polish edition.
