Jess Stacy - Complainin' / Ramblin' (1939)
Although the label states recorded in 1938, the A side matrix fits exactly between P 23889 and P 23991 recorded February 1939 and released on Commodore 517
Note the B side matrix has no P designation.

on the youtube comments people are talking about Eddie Lang playing a guitar solo. Can anyone confirm whether Lang is present? DAHR doesn't mention him, but it sounds more like a guitar than a banjo!

Bing Crosby, Al Rinker, Harry Barris. Barris on piano.
Is that Bing Crosby on cymbal? He was a drummer early on.

Louis Armstrong And His Hot Five - West End Blues / Fireworks (1928)
It's amazing what a damp tissue and glorious sunshine can do! I wish we had the glorious sunshine more often.

I wouldn't dare trying to get that sticker off of a similar aged Victor!

I thought it curious that you had a copy with a sticker peeled off from exactly where mine has a sticker!

I'll try and get better photos. It depends a bit on light and reflection, but the record itself has seen some use over the years and the actual black colour is somewhere between yours and mine if I hold it up to the screen.

Kay Starr - So Tired / Steady Daddy (1948)
This is one where the early matrix number doesn't make sense for the A/B side allocation.

So Tired was a hit in January 1949, and was a hit in Nov 48 for the composer , Russ Morgan. Steady Daddy was recorded a year before going by nearby matrix numbers (Benny Goodman and Peggy Lee recorded matrices 2722-2728 on 12/2/47) so it looks like Capitol used an old recording to back the 'rushed out to compete over christmas' recording.
