Jerry Bruno With The Playmates - Tubby The Tuba / Billy Boy (1962)
(Comment originally submitted to the 45cat entry by zabadak on 29 Jun. 2012)

Love these!

(Comment originally submitted to the 45cat entry by Graham7 on 29 Jun. 2012)

I like the US versions of these, not yet listed seperately, see 7HT 903.

Yeah, very nice too!

"Mum, little Jimmy's been sick.............oh no, it's OK - he's just thrown one of his Happy TIme records on the floor"!

(Comment originally submitted to the 45cat entry by Whyperion on 29 Jun. 2012)

Scratchy little records played on a scratchy little red plastic battery operated record player with a needle as demonstrated in my local department store.

At age 3 I quickly preferred proper 45s (and 78s) through a normal Garrard Deck record player (even if my record collection had Windmill in Old Amsterdam and Puff the Magic Dragon in it , they were good tunes)

Early psych?

(Comment originally submitted to the 45cat entry by Strawberry_Lynn on 6 Oct. 2012)

Those discs were about 6⅝" in diameter, so if you placed in on a Dansette or Garrard autochanger, the needle would miss the beginning of the disc by about ⅛" to ¼"

(Comment originally submitted to the 45cat entry by allan0318 on 6 Oct. 2012)

I am getting dizzy looking at it.

Edmond Blakeman With Full Cast And The Cricket Symphony Orchestra - David And Goliath / Daniel In The Lion's Den (1962)
(Comment submitted to the 45cat entry by Graham7 on 6 May 2012)

Added US pressings of this record as Happy Time only exists on 45cat as a UK label. The American pressings have a completely different pattern and look lovely in front of bright light. I think the US discs should have their own category which probably means a US version of HappyTime.
I notice other US discs and have just noticed the discussion on 7HT 903 so I'll stop there

(Comment submitted to the 45cat entry by The_Vinyl_Junkie on 7 May 2012)

I have two "Happy Time" label singles, both clearly show "Made In U.S.A." I would be tempted to list them as "Australia" for release since "Pickwick International" product was imported and distributed in Australia by "Basic Books, St. Leonards, 2065 N.S.W."

(Comment submitted to the 45cat entry by Graham7 on 2 Apr 2013)

I've added this to 78 RPM World (as USA) using the images I added here. I'll add a proper sized B side label, when I see it again, to both worlds.

(Comment posted to the 45cat entry by nanocyar on 27 Mar. 2011)

Labels state "Made in U.S.A.". For export?

(Comment posted to the 45cat entry by vinyl_junkie on 27 Mar. 2011)

It says 'A Pickwick International product' so presumably these were exported all over... should probably be moved to USA though - are they all like this?

EDIT - No, I see the others are all made in England... US people - do you remember these being sold in the US?!

(Comment posted to the 45cat entry by vinyl_junkie on 27 Mar. 2011)

btw - I like the way they've had to add 'in normal use' to the 'non breakable' claim!

(Comment posted to the 45cat entry by RadnaNotions on 4 Sept. 2011)

The "USA" discs like this one are coloured vinyl - you can see through them. And all the ones I've seen use this "radial" pattern. I don't know much about the manufacturing process of these things but I think it's correct to call the "England" ones picture discs, and their patterns are more splodgy. I have a "USA" edition of the Goldilocks disc, whereas the "England" one has been uploaded on this site. So the same discs are in circulation in both forms. The "USA" discs seem to be less common but there are plenty about. I've wondered whether they were initially made in England and at some point switched to import, or vice-versa. Does anyone know?

(Comment posted to the 45cat entry by Graham7 on 6 May 2012)

Added US pressings of another record in this series 7HT 904 as British because Happy Time only exists on 45cat as a UK label. The American pressings have a completely different pattern and look lovely in front of bright light. I think the US discs should have their own category which probably means a US version of HappyTime.

Blimey - Kidditunes really saw the light when they released this for the kiddie market! Good shot........but you can't imagine this being played on one of their Louis Marx toy gramophones, which is what these records were specifically designed for!

Comment originally submitted to 45cat by GeneRobertson on 6 Nov. 2012

I would imagine that both issues are by the same artistes, and that probably Kidditunes thought a name like the Carollers would be an easier name for children to remember, rather than the Kiddy Chorers…….Kiddy’s Choir……Kid Carol Choir………..I rest my case!
